Lugaro

I visited several jewelry stores for my fiancé’s engagement ring before going to Lugaro. Once I got in, I was greeted by George. He showed me several rings and tailored them to my exact specifications; even gave me a very decent price!
The entire process was simple and fast, and George kept in constant contact with me the entire time.
I couldn’t imagine a more simple process for buying an expensive, high quality piece of jewelry.

If you’re planning on getting a diamond ring from this store, I would suggest looking somewhere else. The customer service there was horrible and at times laughable because all the staff there will come up with any form of ridiculous excuse to get you out the door when you have a problem. In short, my husband and I bought my wedding ring from this store and the ring was in repair for 3.5 months of the 4 months that we were married. It took them 4 times to fix the problem properly. The experience was completely frustrating, disappointing, and insulting.

I saw their bus ads and decided to take a look. Their new store is beautiful! Huge selection of Omega and a few new brand I’ve never seen before. I wasn’t in the market for a new watch, but one of the sales associates introduced me to a German watch brand called Glashutte original. I’ve heard of German precision and the such, but I’ve always though Swiss watches were the way to go. Though I’ve already mentioned that I wasn’t interested in making a purchase today, their sales associate took the time to explain the mechanics and history of the watch. I was pleasantly surprised that the sales will spend that much time with me.5 stars! Jerry was very knowledgeable, great smile, that you can enjoy the purchase.

It was a pleasure dealing with Kevo Terzian and Kim on a recent Omega purchase. Kevo is particularly knowledgeable and willing to converse about watches.
Most importantly, I obtained the best price here, and they took my Amex (for the points), which could not be matched by the other Omega official retailers in town. This is especially true of the Omega boutique downtown, or really any brand’s flagship watch retailer in my experience — they normally have zero room to negotiate off the listed retail price. This is not true of independent jewelers that act as retailers for the top watch brands; they have wiggle room to reduce the price, but are also constrained by forces of profit reduction (lower price means a smaller difference between the price they bought the watch from the manufacturer and the price sold to the customer) and brand discipline, ie, if they systematically and significantly undercut the listed retail price, the brand may threaten to pull their watches from the store.
I cannot give Lugaro 5 stars, since they seemed initially unwilling to even quote me their offer unless I demonstrated a strong commitment to buy the watch. For the reasons listed above, I can understand why. It was only when I showed them the offer I had received from a competitor that they gave me price that beat it. It also helps that I was also an almost guaranteed buy, since I was replacing a watch I had bought previously that was stolen — insurance was going to reimburse me for the purchase so long as I obtained the best price. But at the end of the day, what matters is that the best price came from them.
I was somewhat concerned that they did not have a watch repair person onsite, but later discovered that they do watch fittings in the back, and I’m assured they can deal with minor issues like de-​magnitization back there as well. Major watch issues (ie, internal movement issues) would quite rightly have to be dealt with elsewhere (this usually means the watch would be sent to the watch brand’s service center, for Omega it is in Toronto, but see my review of the German Watchmaker as an alternate consideration).
If you are seriously considering jumping into the world of haute horology, I would visit Lugaro, but you should definitely shop around to make sure you get the best price. They carry all the major Swatch Group brands, including the one I most covet right now, Glashütte Original, so there is a decent chance I may make another purchase with them in the future.

We stepped in because my husband saw the Omega counter and wanted to take a look as he is a watch guy.
The lights are so bright in there that you are almost blinded.
There were 3 staff working at the store but they just stared at you and makes you feel very uncomfortable.
I guess we are not the right type of client for them.

What is it with some of these smaller jewelry stores? People just stand around and ignore you. I don’t get this kind of garbagey service in jewelry chain stores.
I really wanted to spend a lot of money but you guys seem disinterested.

Honest and fair jewelers. Prices couldn’t be beat by competitors.

Just bought our wedding rings from Lugaro’s. We got a great price on two amazing rings. Helpful and friendly service without being pushy. I would definitely recommend.
