I really wanted to like this place. I try to go to as much mom and pop shops as possible, however, the selection in the paper department was less to be desired. They had the basic colors but lacked in the printed paper department especially in the travel section. I make home made cards, therefore, although I am scrap-booking novice, cards are my strong point. If you’re looking for embeds or embellishments catering to a specific genre or category you will be disappointed. It’s best to go to the big box chain craft store. They do have sample books that you can look at for inspiration. The customer service and staff were awesome. Prices for the most part seem reasonable. They have free card making classes to the public. I made an embossed card. I spent 30 minutes in there, not ’cause I was in scrapbook heaven but ’cause I was trying way too hard to like the store.

Making Memories is the best! If you’re a card maker or a scrapper, you must go check it out.(If you’re neither, go check it out and take a class. You’ll love it.) I’m a scrapper but took my first card class today and it was so much fun. I’m thinking of attending another. The ladies there are so helpful and creative too.

I highly recommend Making Memories with Scrapbooking for any invitation or craft project need! I walked into the store a couple of weeks ago to order some wedding invitations. The process was simple(everything is completely custom so you pick out every last detail yourself — there isn’t a catalogue of invitations to choose from). Sam was friendly and helpful and mocked up a sample on the spot! We confirmed the details and I left the store knowing exactly what I was going to get when I was to pick up my order in a few days. Fast forward a week when the invitations were picked up. My fiancé noticed a word that was misspelled on the invitation that Sam and I both missed. I was not a happy camper! Enter Amari from Making Memories to save the day! When my fiancé explained the situation, Amari far exceeded my expectation to fix the problem. She reprinted everything at a fraction of the original cost and had it ready for us to pick up the next day! Given that I had signed off on the work prior to printing, she could have easily turned me away or charged me fully to fully to reprint. I have complete confidence in the work that they do and highly recommend Making Memories! I would have recommended them before the mix up and post-mix up, they stand out even more from the crowd! Friendly, prompt, professional and a perfect product at the end! I am a happy bride!

I never imagined myself taking up the crafty art of scrap booking, but as a new mom, I find myself yearning to preserve every little memory and milestone. Goofy, I know, but there it is. When I finally gave into the urge, I started collecting my supplies at Making Memories. The staff was so helpful and quickly walked me through the overwhelming amount of choices in paper, stamps, inks, adhesive, etc. etc. etc. And anyone who has shopped with an infant appreciates an efficient sales person! So with craft scissors in hand and a noggin full of ideas, I am now officially a scrap booker.

I love paper! But being forced to look for paper because I need to make wedding invitations takes all the fun out of it. Where can I find paper to make invitations? How do I go about making invitations? What about finding the right sized envelopes so my invites look like I didn’t haphazardly slap it together? Arrrrrrgh! And in walks MAKINGMEMORIES! I was about to drive all the way to New West to some other store, but because I am lazy, I found out that there is something down the street from me. This place is wonderful! My friend had her daughter’s birthday there and I didn’t even give it a second thought. While Googling paper, someone mentioned they got their invitations there. They make it so easy… choose what you like, choose your paper and ta da! INVITATIONS! It could not have been simpler. Amari even made a mock up on the spot so that I could have a sample to show my mother. They have so many different types of paper… sizes of paper. They have ribbons, tapes, embellishments. They even have classes and big tables in the back. I love this place, I love them… thank you for making life easier.

I was surprised to find that one of the best scrapbooking stores in town was in Burnaby … really? Burnaby? So after I got over my initial surprise, it took awhile for me to take in all that they had — which was a lot. It’s a small store, but they make the most of every inch they’ve got. I think my love for scrapbooking was nurtured at this very store, because they have everything you could possibly ever need for scrapbooking. Albums in all different sizes, appliqué stickers, stamps, inks, borders, papers, envelopes, the list goes on and on. Of course, scrapbooking isn’t a cheap hobby, and it’s very easy to get carried away in a shop like this one. So you might want to pace yourself a little, and just keep a mental tab on how much you’re getting. The ladies here are very helpful, and are quick to suggest ideas for you if you’re unsure of something. Making Memories is a must if scrapbooking or even art in general, is your kind of thing.
