Love this store, love this location! I frequent here because it is not too far away and there’s always something I will find. The service is excellent. Sometimes cashier lines can get slow, but it does tend to get busy during certain sale times. Prices are overpriced, but that is why you only purchase things with a coupon or when the item is on sale, which is all the time. 50% off one single item is common or 20% off your entire purchase. The lowest price of the season is usually 3 for 1 for certain items, such as canvas, frames, etc.
One lady has always been superb and really great at making you feel welcomed and she is genuine. Her name is Angela and I have submitted surveys commending her for her commitment to customer satisfaction. It is rare to meet such caring and happy people at their job!
It is one of the places my son doesn’t mind me shopping at. So many cool knick knacks for him and lots of cool things for mommy too!

I want to say this location is a solid 3.5.
I would say I’m a pretty creative person and hit up this location about once a month or more. Their paper crafts are heavily stocked and with a large variety of items. Their sewing goods however are a little lacking in variety vs their Broadway location
There is lots of parking, but to be honest the prices are a little overpriced for specific items — so be sure to always look up for coupons before entering — some days they have really great coupon deals that are not just 40% off one item, but maybe a 30% off your entire purchase. I have to admit these days are the best to go because during your check out time it’s like playing a great «and the price is…» game when the checkout girl hits the enter button to reveal your total amount of purchases. Trust me you can save a lot. But like I said, only during this time. Be sure to have coupons because they won’t always ask if you have coupons.
The workers are helpful when you can locate one ~ and if they know what it is you’re looking for. It’s very common for me to find few checkout lanes open, and very long lines.

I signed up for their cake decorating course a year ago. I found that the instructor was easy to follow, semi encouraging, class was fun, lots of hands on experience and practice inside and outside of class. Supplies are not included, however, discounted for students who buy their kits from Michael’s. You can use your 50% off coupons as well. The only part that I found a little hard was making the roses.

Large organized location with a private parking lot. They have a good amount of staff here available for questions and multiple cashiers open at check out. This location has a lot of clearance items, which I love!

Overpriced, big box, overpriced, big box like, oh, did I say overpriced. No wonder they publish 50% off coupons, everything is 100% more than my local craft store. This location in South Burnaby is short staffed, messy and overpriced!

Great customer service at this location. They went above and beyond to make sure we were found what we were looking for and were satisfied with the prices.

I had to pick up some last minute Christmas supplies and since there was a 40% off coupon, I decided to take advantage.
This is one of the newer and most organized Michael’s store. The sales people are helpful and actually walked around the store with me for 10 minutes helping me look for a specific item that I needed.
The parking is ample and it’s always stress free to visit this particular store. Prices at Michael’s are not the cheapest, but keep an eye out for the coupons they have about once a month.

On my quest for creativity I tend to come here A LOT. Pretty much anytime I take my dogs to their version of Disney Land (Petsmart) I make the fiancé wait while I meander over to Michael’s. I LOVE it here and their website makes it easy to pick out what you want and then go to the store and purchase it. They also have ideas for different creative endeavours.
The store is almost always clean and it’s easy to find what you are looking for. The staff are friendly and efficient about 80% of the time. I guess that’s good for a big place like this but that is also the reason they have only received 4 stars.
