Midgate Optical

My family has been going to Midgate Optical for the past 10 years. Recently we discovered that Thomas had become the new owner/​optician. We found him to be pleasant, honest, experienced and knowledgeable. He also gave us a very good price on 2 pairs of glasses (4 months later we purchased another pair from him). We are very happy with the exceptional service Thomas has provided. We will continue to do business with Midgate Optical as he carries a good selection of quality frames, prices are very reasonable and service is excellent. Midgate Optical is a small little optical store hidden within an area that is filled with large buildings and colorful advertisements. It is also within an area that has a large Hakim Optics across the street as well as 2 more optical stores around a 2 block radius. That being said, small doesn’t mean bad, because the store owner here definitely seems to know what he’s doing and cares about his customers.
Thomas is the one man you would find working at the store, he has recently taken over the business as the new owner only within 3 months. During my conversation with him, I found out that he has been in this business for many years before and owned a store in the UBC area. He offered me a free eye examination, a complimentary pair of contacts, and just felt extremely knowledgeable and confident with every piece of information he gave me. What really makes me love his service even more is because I feel that he has a passion for what he does. Loving your business is one thing, but showing it to your customers is another, Thomas definitely has that vibe which makes me want to support more small business owners compared to large franchises. At the moment, he definitely solidified his position as my optician.
