Yum! Good fresh food. Nice people. And they deliver!

Merhaba! So I was here yesterday for a post-workout meal and given that I do need my protein and carbs, I decided to order their chicken plate which is $ 9. It was basically chicken breast in herbs and spices on basmati rice with tabbouleh. They also provided pita bread with hummus garlic sauce and maybe tzatziki. The chicken was on the borderline between juicy and dry. Like, you can still taste the juices coming out of the chicken while the texture feels kind of dry.(Thinking it could be the spices). The tabbouleh was fresh and counter balanced the meats and the carbs. The hummus and tzatziki was fresh and all, but the sauce that really stood out was the garlic sauce because they mainly used mayonnaise and a little bit of garlic(which proves that fat is flavour.) The restaurant is very small and can probably fit in 10 – 12 seats. It is great for takeout though if you are looking for a quick dinner and all. Hint. The owners are Persian and not Turkish(Heard them say Salam)

Great value, great spot for those who love small low-cost ethnic casual. The food tastes fresh, healthy, home-made. Large falafel wrap for $ 7 is excellent! Beef adana plate for $ 9 totally worth it too. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Will be back to try the broad selection of nice-looking pastries and uncommon beverages. Definitely will return.

The mouth watering aromas hit you before you open the door. This wonderful gem is a GREAT place to go to if you’re hungry and you want to tantalize your taste buds! I visited this restaurant on November 22nd and found the service to be excellent and the food was even better! We were met with smiles and were made to feel welcome. The food was made to order. It arrived hot and ohhhh… was it GOOD! Nothing was over or under cooked. The food quality is good and you easily get your money’s worth. You won’t be leaving this place hungry. I will definitely be going back. Come check this place out. You’ll be glad you did.

So I’ve been craving middle eastern meat pies since my first experience in Ottawa. I did some research and finally found this Turkish restaurant because they serve something similar called lahmacun. We ordered: Lahmacun, Pide(similar but the meat is exposed and on a more doughy bread), Chicken Platter and of course some Baklava. I’m from Ottawa, where there is a plethora of amazing Lebanese food, which I miss a lot. Some dishes I find were similar, but not quite since it’s all in the details. After having the dishes here, I found the tastes were more subtle, less oily/greasy and used unique ingredients. I cannot compare two different cultures of foods, no matter how similar the dish. They each have their own techniques and ingredients that make it unique. I really liked the Pide — it was served with something like a thick sour cream to nicely balance the flavours. The chicken platter was totally not what I expected, but in a good way. It wasn’t the typical meat shaved off the slab, it was marinated with really nice flavours. Definitely pleased with this place and would definitely come back. What a great addition to the neighbourhood!

Excellent Donair and pastries. We have eaten here twice and while I’m no expert, the food is very tasty. The owner is super nice guy and even gave my kid a complementary Turkish strawberry soda on our second visit. They have these delicious Turkish pastry, like little donuts which are sweet but so addictive. Regarding Donair, we tried a variety of lamb and chicken and loved it. The lady who will create your Donair Subway style recommended several toppings which was nice.

Not a Turkish cuisine expert but I do think the food is freshly prepared in an authentic way. The couple that runs this place are warm and hospitable. The lamb Adana platter was enough for two smaller meals as the minced lamb kebab was generously portioned. I also enjoyed the trio of dips offered: one was hummus but the white garlicky one(toum) and the creamy herby one was tasty as well. Salad and tabouleh were fresh and and prepared nicely in uniform bite sized pieces(the attention to details count!) Great value and quality! Will be back soon. Oh and their desserts looked delicious as well.

Turkish food is one of our favorites since my husband and I visited Turkey back when we were dating. This place has some great dishes that we haven’t seen at other places. We really enjoy the donairs, pide, and lahmacun.

I made a visit here a couple times. Service was always good and food was prepared quickly. My go to item is a donair. I have been spoiled eating amazing donairs elsewhere so have been searching around the Lower Mainland for a similar experience. Donair was pretty good. I had a large selection of toppings to choose from. The meat tasted alright. I would like a bit more spice in the marinated meat but I still enjoyed my meal. The shop has an extensive menu. It would be even better if they explained what each item was in print. If you are not familiar with the food, you would understand what I mean. Nothing like staring at the menu and having the urge to bring out my phone and do a web search rather than keep asking more questions and holding up a line. There are also baked goods on display. Everything looked tempting to try. I think it is worth a visit for a quick snack when I am in the area.

Having passed by this quaint Turkish deli a number of times, we finally managed to visit on a rainy Saturday evening. I believe its operated by a husband and wife team. I ordered our food at the counter, and the lady was keen on explaining some of their menu items while, who I presume, her husband was busy putting together Donairs and carving meat from the slowly revolving«meat missiles». The adana platter(ground lamb patties) and mix platter(beef and chicken) were a delicious foray to what they offered. The baba ghounnoush was also wonderful, at only $ 2.99 per order. I look forward to trying out their baked goods and other interesting sounding items. They also had a number of Turkish products on display and for sale, most notably coffees, teas, and olive oils. Not a whole of seating available, but parents of young children will be glad to know that they have a high chair or two available.

Saray opened 47 days ago yesterday, they told us. Five of us went there, and were really impressed with the food, prices and service. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere, and pretty small. Two people had the falafel platter, which they said was OK. I had burek, which is a cheese pie. Except that it could have been hotter, I loved it. Intereting green salad with some crunchy pepper and(I think) minced up parsley — like a little shot of tabouleh. Another person had a donair and raved about it. We tested several desserts. My favourite was revani, a very moist cake topped with coconut. They also have classic baklava and several other items which the guy doing the cooking behind the counter also referred to as baklava. It would be nice if the menu was a bit more explanatory. It justs lists food by its Turkish name, with no description. Keep the Turksih name, but give people a brief idea what’s in it(useful for vegetarians!). That said, the woman serving us was very patient about explaining everything. We are definitely going back — they have take-out, great hours and(apparntly) organic breakfast.(Not sure what that involves so I guess I’ll have to check it out.) Location-wise I hope they do OK. This is on the block just south of WIllingdon off Hastings, so not likely to get tons of casual foot traffic stopping in. Maybe if they do really well they can move to Burnaby Heights on Hastings. They really deserve to flourish!

Donairs(plates or sandwich) are good. Oversalted at times so inconsistent food quality. I still enjoy this place, though! And the cheese pie is delicious!

Great addition to the neighbourhood, place is small but done up nicely inside to showcase their stuff. They were a bit slow but they’ll get the hang of it :)
