Following some retail therapy, I began looking to grab a quick bite. I typically steer away from food court stalls. Luckily, I passed by the Take Five Café. I ordered a package of penné pasta and was served a warm plate shortly thereafter. Great menu, and the penné was delicious! For the price point, I would most definitely consider going back!

Mostly for students that want a place to study. I felt a sort of hostility from the cashier when I asked questions about the options for the drinks.

It’s hard to enjoy a decent lunch meal from there. I understand they don’t prepare their sandwiches and wraps on the spot and that they’re refrigerated. Still, I would like to kindly request that they not be sold when it’s obvious the lettuce has grown stale. Moreover, they didn’t heat my wrap completely. Large chunks of it were still quite cold. The hot chocolate was pretty enjoyable and the seating isn’t too bad if you are able to get past the noise from shoppers hustling about. The lady preparing my drink gave me a warm smile when asking if I wanted chocolate syrup. I just think that if they work on making their food looking fresh and more edible, not as though it’s been sitting in the display for days, this café could become a weekly spot for me for lunch hour.

If I’m in Metrotown, which I often am, this is my go to place for a coffee. The line ups are short, if any. The coffee is way better than the other chains in the mall, and the prices are better. The seating is plenty. But the top reason this is my go to is the service. It’s really the friendliest around — they always remember me and my kids, and actually attempt at conversation even if it’s minimal due to other customers. I normally get a latte and a steamed milk for the kids and they are consistently good. They always remember to keep the temperature lower on the kids drinks. They often have fun specialty drinks they are promoting, which look delicious(but I’m a latte purist).

Never going back! They made a mistake on my order and refused to accept their mistake. They instead gave an attitude. These people are working in a customer service environment, thus should know how to handle these types of problems. I’m seriously disgusted with these minimum wage workers that can’t do their job right.

They made good Zebra Mocha’s, lattes, coffee, tea. They have treats, meals, and always good service. Nice coffee shop in the middle of the mall.

Can almost give this a full 5 star, as what can possibly be missing: but it’s just a café lol. Of all the coffee places to be seen inside the mall, this is the one as it’s located right in the middle of a busy wall between the new and old parts of the mall. has its own seating that’s quite gated off from the rest of the shoppers but it’s definitely eye candy heaven on some days. and nights. Bar seating there, and also sit-down too. then again, it’s not a place to study or to get some peace and quiet lol.

I tried the lavender latte, as it’s fairly rare to see. It was very good – not too«flowery» and the taste of espresso is still dominant. The sandwiches(three cheese and chicken pesto) were not that great. It’s probably the best option for coffee in Metrotown, but I wish they put a bit more effort into their food.

Right in the middle between the two centers this is the perfect place for me to grab that quick cup of tea, plain and simple. Shorter lines than at Starbucks. The service has always been decent and pleasant. Some improvements can be made on the pastry selection, however, given the foot traffic I can understand why they would not want to make this the secondary focus other than hot and cold beverages. Prices are very decent for what you get and tastier with more care on selections compared to other chains. One of the most underrated coffee shops in the mall.

Wow, the Americano Misto seriously rocks! Very rich and full-bodied flavour with a slight acidity — definitely the best caffeine option in the Metrotown mall. However, I don’t feel wired drinking Take Five, which is a possible indication that there isn’t as much caffeine in the drink. I’m okay with that though. I drink coffee for the taste, not to get high.

My business uses Take 5 for our catering and I wouldn’t have it any other way. They are prompt, courteous, and deliver on promises. Their kiosk in the mall is located in a prime location and is always busy. The staff is friendly and accommodating, which makes them my primary choice for my caffeine fix. Until I get that coffee in my system, I can be a very bitter person. If you get a chance, stop by and try one of their grilled paninis. Very tasty and a perfect lunch size.
