DO. NOT. USE. We used this outfit to move from Vancouver to Calgary in 2012 and the following things occured: 1. They were late arriving to pack the truck. 2. They piggybacked a piano move on the same truck(had we not followed him closely — I’m positive the truck weigh in/weigh out would have provided him with a double payment for that piano move — from us & the owners). 3. He was over A DAYLATE arriving in Calgary, causing us to have to rent a hotel room(which we charged him for). He claimed«mechanical problems» but we were provided no evidence for this. 4. He insisted we pay him almost a thousand dollars over his quoted price — BEFORE truck weigh in and unloading of our stuff — and when we refused he threatened to take all of our belongings and we could pick them up when we’d paid. In the end they did refund the overcharge once the weigh in had occurred… however, damage done — Bob is the most unprofessional unBELIEVABLE person in ANY profession that I have ever encountered. 5. Bob takes the tips from the guys who actually do the unloading.(Bob himself did nothing but take his family off to eat lunch while these great guys unloaded everything). It was an EXTREMELY stressful move. It caused acute complications in my pregnancy and we felt violated. I would never recommend them to anyone. Beware.

Horrid and stressful moving experience. Worst I’ve ever had in the 5 times that I have moved in the last 7 years. Furniture all unproperly wrapped and put into the moving van which resulted in cracked and scratched up wood and couch. The company told me at the time of the quote that they had insurance subject to a $ 500 deductible. After moving they refused for me to submit a claim as the company didn’t even have insurance. The owner was extremely unprofessional during the move. He made vulgar comments and I overheard him talk on his cellphone telling his friend to look at the new webpage he made for AAA Careful Moving and that he had made a lot of false positive reviews to make his company«shine». Caveat emptor– A lot of the positive reviews you find online are false and written by none other than Bob Carpenter himself using different aliases. He also operates his company with numerous alisas to skirt the bad reviews and historical record of his moving company. Please do your homework before moving with them. I wish I had done a review search as that would have spared me thousands in damage and stress even if it meant paying a little more for other reputable professional companies. They quote low, but then come back and demand you pay more by threatening not to drop off your belongings at your destination until you pay them extra in cash.

This company is a scam. Swearing in front of my children, violence and complete unprofessional. They quoted me $ 400 to move my belongings from a storage container the size of 12 – 16 with no appliances or heavy items, stating this would take less than the minimal time allowed of three hours; however once they had my items in their vehicle stated the invoice would be $ 900 and a total of seven to eight hours. First they showed up an hour late to the storage unit, with a truck way to small, stating they will need to do two runs even though i provided them the size of the unit the items were being stored in. They backed the truck into the tree on the front yard, and took their sweet time unloading the first load well banging into the walls and walking through the house with their dirty shoes on. When they returned hours later with the second load, the owner the Head enchilada demanded $ 900 dollars for the work they had done or they would drive away with my furniture. I tried to discuss the dynamics of this situation with the owner expressing my concerns for their lack of enthusiasm with this move, their slow pace of movement, and their unprofessional conduct. This is when the owner preceded to tell me that yes they were late and yes they brought too small a truck and yes i got his b team not his a team, but if i want my belongings, I’ll be paying him cash of $ 900. when i discussed how ridiculous a figure this was he proceeded to curse and use profanity towards me and the children in the home. this is a complete scam and if i ever use a moving company again, i will get a written contract and a decided price prior to the hire. As there are minimal regulations with moving companies, they can do whatever they want and get away with it. Not to mention, the nice polite receptionist at the time of booking did not mention the invoice would be cash only… if this would have been mentioned, i would of hung up and found a company that is legal not criminal.
