Service here is always spot on and servers always have great recommendations on the beers. We asked what menu items were Vegan and she knew right away but went to talk to kitchen incase something changed. I appreciate that effort! There were only two options Nachos without cheese and sourcream which is what we ended up ordering. Was satisfying. Other option was salads omitting the meat. I do have one suggestion though, that they stock Daiya cheese shreds…:) Thank you for Vegan options!

A great little spot for lunch or some pints. Kid friendly and with a kids menu and decently priced. My go to spot when friends want to meet for dinner. Everything I’ve tried has been tasty.

I’m not a huge fan of beer but my server has me sold on a lighter beer with belini slush in it. The bartender added some berries and it’s just yummy. I wouldn’t have thought I’d be drinking a slushy beer with fruit at a Brewsters but I did. Actually I had two and I liked it. We were last here for a bit of a corporate thing so I got a sample a bunch of the appetizers I may not have ordered myself. I’m a fan of the nachos. Sometimes pub nachos can be too over cooked, over or under cheesed or too greasy but they were well mixed and tasted yummy. The room was a bit loud but as long as that’s what I was going for then it’s a cool place to stop in after work.

Went here for supper and drinks with a bigger group. Service and food were really good. Lots of beer varieties and food options.

With no prior opinion for or against Brewster’s, I can’t say we attended for any other reason but to celebrate my partner’s new job and use a $ 100 gift card we had won. Upon walking in the door, we were promptly and warmly greeted by a sharply dressed gentleman who escorted us to a booth. After that, we did wait for what seemed like a while before a server came to our table, however when the server did arrive she was very friendly. We came on what was«British Pub Theme Night». As such, we tried their«Pim’s and Sprite» drink special. It was actually a very refreshing and delightful surprise, served with cucumber slices. My partner did point out that the theme was not particularly well represented. I ended up opting for the raspberry beer, which was served with fresh berries and was very tasty! We opted to order appetizers to share; The bacon wrapped sirloin bites, the pretzels and the crab dip. The disappointment of the trio were the bacon wrapped sirloin bites. To be fair, we arrived so starving that it was not an issue with the service, she did check with us fairly promptly to see if everything was ok. The issue was one of kitchen quality control, as 4 of the pieces lacked an essential ingredient of bacon. I also had a different expectation of what we were ordering as, for the same price, Standard Tap House gives you double the number of pieces in a cute wee bucket, and every piece is actually adorned with bacon. As a matter of personal preference, I also did not care for the bites being arranged directly on a ketchup garnish and would have preferred the ketchup along side them on the giant plate, as I utterly loath traditional condiments such as ketchup. My partner found them quite delicious, even«sans» the requisite, name described bacon. Which brings us to the other two appetizers. The pretzels were delicious and paired with a classic combo of a mustard dip, but again, as a person who loathes condiments, the dip was not for me. What was the most delicious treat sensation for me was taking the pretzels and instead of the ordinary, greasy, tortilla chips that came with the crab dip, dipped the warm, chewy pretzels into the crab dip! Yum!!! It was our first visit here, and overall I really enjoyed the experience. My partner, Dan, feels no need to return(he isn’t into«sports bars» and felt that atmosphere unpleasant with a heavy focus on TV’s), however I liked the atmosphere and would definitely return. I had to deduct a star for how long we initially waited at the table to be served when the establishment was only moderately busy and appeared to have an abundance of serving staff, and for the significant kitchen failure of forgetting the bacon on half of our«BACON wrapped sirloin bites». The only explanation in my mind is that someone truly didn’t feel any pride in the quality of what left the kitchen that day. Our server’s absolutely delightful disposition and banter made the wait at first feel not so bad

I stopped in this place while staying overnight in Calgary. It was mid week and seemed kind of dead. We had a bear and a appetizer which was good. I thought the beer was just average nothing really great. I probably wouldn’t go back here again.

The first time we visited this place we had really good service. The recent trip wasn’t as good. Our server was hardly around and we had to ask twice for a few different things that were missed. Overall the food is good and the selection of beers is good. They have some good daily deals as well as a good happy hour selection. I’ll be back for another round but I’m not rushing to go back.

Brewsters has a nice location with parking on the side, and is big enough for large groups, the service is decent and I can recommend it for bigger groups!

Nice White Ale with a bacon, smoked Gouda salad. Reasonable afternoon atmosphere — I could hear my companions. Service was efficient and friendly.

Good beer, decent food, and one of the most convenient locations downtown. The atmosphere/building is great and the service is quite good as well. A solid place to stop by after work.

It has been about 4 years since I have been to this Brewsters location so basically I consider it my first visit. Because we were looking for a place to have lunch at the last minute, this was our third choice but the other places we wanted to try were already full at 11:45. We were quickly seated when we arrived and within a few minutes we were greeted by our server and our drinks were being mixed. I always like going out with this friend because we often order a few things and share them. Today we ordered the calamari to share and then each had our own entrée. The calamari came with some fried jalapeños and was served with a remoulade dipping sauce. It was great! The calamari was cooked perfectly and the combination of everything was perfect. I had the fish tacos as my entrée and they were ok. I likely wouldn’t order them again but I did finish most of them. My friend ordered the halibut sandwich and she said it was«fair». To me it looked yummy and the portion was huge. We both had leftovers to take home to our husbands. Overall the food was good and the service was WAY better than the couple of times we went next door to Beer Revolution. I believe they are part of the same chain but after my experience today I will likely go back to Brewsters before I went back to BR.

Love this place! I live just a couple blocks away so this place has become sort of our local spot. The service is always friendly and very prompt and the place has never been so jam packet that we couldn’t get a table pretty quickly. The beer selection is fantastic! Our first time there were opted for two tasting flights of their own beers, so we could try them all. We did have a our favorites, but all of them were really good. We’ve tried about half the things on their menu as well and everything has been really tasty. Granted, it’s above average pub food but it’s definitely yummy. Their pulled pork sandwich, all of the salads, any burger and the pizzas are all great. I think my favorite thing is the Bavarian pretzel appetizer… so fresh and warm and the mustard sauce is delicious. My husband has also gone to Brewsters for a couple business lunches, so it’s a good place for lunch or dinner.

Joined some friends at Brewster’s to unwind after a day of work, and at first I wasn’t up to the idea of staying downtown after spending the entire day working. But once we got here, my outlook completely changed. Our waitress was super friendly and chatted us up each time she came by, and even though it was busy we were never left without a drink in hand. Although I’m not a beer drinker, I sampled the River City Raspberry Ale and it was quite tasty! Along with an unhealthy amount of wings, we also ordered the Chicken and Bacon Alfredo, Mac & Meatloaf and Applewood Burger. The pasta was perfectly cooked and was a huge helping — I had more than enough leftover for lunch! The Mac & Meatloaf? Bacon wrapped meatloaf and bits of bacon in the macaroni. .. BACONBACONBACON! What’s not to love?! I wouldn’t say no to another after work get together here in the future!

I wasn’t impressed by the food or the time it took to get the food. I guess eating downtown is not like it used to be. It was busy on a Friday as you would expect but we got a table right away and it was right at 12:00 when we sat down. I would have expected that the food would have shown up quicker. It took 35 mins to get the 2 wraps we ordered. As for the food it was the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Wasn’t excited about the chicken in the wrap. I guess they got the cheap supplier of buffalo chicken. There was definitely more buffalo breading than chicken. The staff was friendly and the waitress was very attentive. I just was expecting more.

There wasn’t a hostess when we arrived so we walked in and couldn’t decide between a booth or sitting on the patio. Since it was cooler outside, we got a table on the patio and a waitress saw us and brought menus. The menu had burgers, pizzas, salads, and other entrees that should satisfy any craving. I decided on the entrée size fish tacos and fries. The fish tacos were a little spicy, but as someone who doesn’t eat very spicy, it was a tolerable heat. They were ok but not amazing, same could be said for the salsa that accompanied it. The skinny fries were also fine and they did give a lot. For $ 15, it was an ok meal. The waitress was friendly and prompt with her service. The outdoor patio is nice even though it faces the parking lot. Inside you will find booths, and also tables and bar stools facing open windows.

By the time the food had settled in our stomachs, we found ourselves nursing our beers to loud Top 40’s music and the sight of «I just turned 18 no more fake ID» younglins socializing. Nothing wrong with that, in fact they were quite well behaved considering the Roadhouse is just blocks away and their conversation could easily turn into inappropriate public display of attention. I had their sampler tray which allowed me to choose six beers. I can’t quite recall what I had but just went with whichever I thought would taste sweet plus my usual styles of beer. I’m a Pilsner and Wheat Ale kinda guy. Our waitress was friendly but a bit… well…she seemed to have had a long day.

I checked out this Brewsters for the first time last night whilst bro-ing down with Angelo Ramirez. When we first walked in, it seemed a little too loud for philosophical conversations and beers which is why I initially wanted to avoid the Ship and the Hop. We also tried going to Regal Beagle first but I noticed they had spelled«karaōke» as «karoaki» on their window and snubbed them immediately thereafter. The whole vibe of Brewsters is a little too post-GYM-TAN-LAUNDRY-picking-up-babes-while-watching-the-game-on-eight-tvs-at-once, but we managed to find a quieter spot at the back of the bar. Our server was really quite nice. I ordered the blueberry ale, which is fucking fantastic. I am happy to report they put real blueberries into my beer which rules. I was actually very impressed to see all of their different brews on the menu. I saw that you can make any burger on the menu a lentil burger, but wasn’t hungry. Worth scoping though. I was impressed by the fruity sampler that my aforementioned beer guzzling partner ordered, and its presentation. It is definitely no Wild Rose as far as the atmosphere goes, and there are other bars within proximity I would visit first next time. However, I will probably be back to try a few more brews.

What’s still awesome about Brewster’s downtown? The blueberry ale. Always was, always will be. The service is also still right up there. These guys have a good formula going. But what’s changed? Renos for one. It’s about half the size it used to be, which is ok since that back half that’s now home to Beer Revolution wasn’t usually all that full anyway. The menu’s changed too. The greco flatbread I used to get is nowhere to be found :(. This makes me sad. For taking away my favourite thing on the menu, a star goes down. But the renos makes for a better flow to the room. And you can wait at the bar and drink blueberry ale while you wait for a table to be ready next door.

I used to work close by, so this was a fairly frequent stop after hours with my coworkers. I’ve been back a few times since then. The food is fairly consistent, they have a decent veggie burger and the servers are always pleasant. However, one time, the chef decided he was going to argue with me that the sauce that he slathered all over my burger was not mayonnaise(which I always, always ask to be left out as it’s not vegan), but was in fact, their«housemade garlic aioli.» Helloooooo? Garlic + mayo = AIOLI! Just because I don’t eat meat doesn’t mean I flunked home-ec class. And if it’s really«housemade,» you wouldn’t argue with me that it wasn’t mayonnaise. Sending my burger back three times kind of made me wary of eating it that night. That was my one bad experience at Brewsters and really, it just made me feel bad for the waitress who was extremely pleasant and apologized profusely for the chef. And I know it’s not her fault. Every other time I’ve been there, the food has been solid, and the drinks reasonably priced. I went there Saturday night to catch up with old friends and meet new ones and the service was pleasant and efficient. Be warned, once the game is on, carrying a conversation can be kind of difficult and the atmosphere can get pretty sophomoric.
