Not basing this review on cleanliness really as I busied myself with a magazine and tried not to look breathe too much as it was packed in that room. The front end staff were ok at intake but what I was impressed with was my appointment was right on time. To the minute. Sooo, I was in and out from the little room at the back in 3 – 4 minutes. I despise needles, really BADLY! Thankfully, the gal that took my blood vials was personable and really understanding of fearful patients and advised that she has her phobias too — namely the dentist to which I could also relate. This place is a lab that your DR may send you as part of a physical exam and there is also a line for walk-ins. Bring a book, try to sit in as much of your personal space as possible and do not be late as they do seem to run by the clock! Located in a Beddington Plaza where the London Drugs is. Pitiful Mall but ample parking.

In reading Helene’s review, I feel bad for her and the entire experience. Mine was the opposite. I was just there this week and had booked an appointment. Apparently that’s the way to go because I didn’t wait five minutes. The waiting room may have been half full at noon. The nurse who took care of my blood work was young and absolutely hilarious. I would have liked to hang out with her longer, but I was passed along to someone else for an EKG. She was a nice woman as well. As I walked the hallway, other staff were interacting with each other and having pleasant conversations. This stood out to me because you don’t see it very often. I always bring water with me so I didn’t notice that there wasn’t a water cooler. I also didn’t notice there weren’t magazines because I had no time to be bored. I didn’t notice that anything was unsanitary and didn’t witness any mistreatment. My business there was handled efficiently and as I mentioned, I was also entertained. Being that the lab is close to my house, I’ll certainly go back out of convenience and based on my experience, I’ll never be a walk-in patient again. Booking an appointment is key. 26⁄30 for Unilocal’s 30 Day Challenge

I usually wouldn’t review a Lab but I had to in this instance. Let me break it down for you. 1.) If you come in as a walk-in, expect to wait about an hour to get your blood sample taken. 2.) Belligerent front end staff, very unprofessional and downright rude to the elderly and Asian clients… I am not Asian nor elderly and felt sorry for the way they were spoken to, considering they have several staff members that are of Asian decent. 3.) One of the lab techs wreaked of cigarette smoke.(I will give her credit, she was nice) 4.) One of the receptionists kept coughing and not covering her mouth. Looked pissed off and angry for the duration I was there. 5.) One of the receptionists kept clock watching instead of calling out the number of the people who came in as walk-in’s, only the coughing receptionist did this and when people came in and asked her a question she kept telling them to take a number and sit down… its a question for Christ’s sake! 6.) I got poked twice because one of the techs was incompetent. I am not a fan of arbitrary poking. 7.) NOTENOUGHSTAFF, for how busy this place is, they really should consider hiring more lab techs, almost as bad as Sunridge and Marlbrough(if not worse)! 8.) No magazines. Seriously? 9.) No water cooler. WTF? 10.) For a lab the place could have been cleaner. Front doors were dirty the handles were questionable. I guess if you have no choice, and have to come, book an appt. If you are ever in the area, North Hill Professional centre is by far one of the best labs I have been to and for the little ones, if you don’t mind paying for parking, I would totally recommend the Children’s Hospital.
