Canada Diagnostic Centres

I’ve gone for a few appointments at other Canada Diagnostic Centre locations, and have never had a problem booking an appointment with them. My most recent experience with them was a bad one, however. I needed to book a more specialized appointment, and was asked to send them a copy of the requisition. A week went by and I’d heard nothing, so I called to follow up. I was told I should receive a call with an appointment time by the end of the week. Another week goes by and still nothing. At this point I also asked my doctor’s office to follow up. It is now more than a month later and I STILL have not heard back from them. I gave up weeks ago and booked with another provider, who was able to immediately confirm an appointment time for me without a long wait time.
I now know the pain and frustration that people deal with when navigating our medical system. I understand sometimes having to wait to see a specialist, and I’m fine with that. But with any other experience I’ve had, they will at least schedule the appointment pretty quickly after receiving a referral. Or at least explain your process to patients. Don’t give them the runaround and not follow through when they have medical concerns.
