I have been going here for a while now getting consistently fantastic massages with a specific massage therapist(who had recently left). I still get great massages even though I miss my regular. I love the steam room afterwards — enough room to lay down! I’ve had the spa day treatment there as well(incl. massage, facial, manicure & lunch). I have never left feeling disappointed; always relaxed and refreshed. As a treat at the end of your massage, you are awarded a glass of lemon water and the owner’s signature homemade cookies! It’s a small gesture with great value for those who know what I’m talking about. As of late, I stated seeing one of their stylists who I feel has been consistent with her work. I have been seeing the same person previous to Cavabien for well over a decade so this was a big step for me. So far I am pleased with her work and will continue to see her. I had visited a couple, more popluar chain salons with so-so results, but that is not a viable option for me. As experience has proven the best service comes from salons that do not hide behind a branded name, but from private establishments that continue to uphold their high reputation in the industry. Their stylists seem to treat the business as their own and care about their individual work as much as the business owner does. Everyone at this salon & spa has always been wonderful to work with. The location is one if the best in Calgary as it is not downtown with ridiculously over priced parking amid looming concrete structures. Instead Cavabien sits inner city within a nicely treed and trendy residential neighborhood with a private lot to park in or free street parking. Go there now if you haven’t been already.

I’ve had the best haircut here, thanks to Olivia. Before finding her at Ca Va Bien, I found it difficult to get any feedback from stylists — usually, they’d just do what I’d ask, regardless of whether they’d think it would suit me(and really, who would know best but a professional?). They’d never give me their opinion, even if I asked for it, and weren’t really open to much discussion — get in the chair and get out. Olivia is very open and sincere. If I ask her opinion about a certain cut, or ask how my hair would handle a style, she’s very happy to tell me the truth. If I tell her about what I have in mind, she’ll find a way to execute it so that it looks great with my face shape. She’ll give me clear and easy tips on how to maintain the look at home too. Yes, this place is a bit more expensive($ 50 – 60 for a cut), but it’s well worth it. Even if I let my hair grow out a bit, it still looks stylish. The staff will even serve coffee and home made cookies while I’m being served … what a nice way to treat myself! I haven’t used the spa services, other than some waxing. The girls do a great job at that, and they’re all very friendly.

It’s a hair salon/spa. They are really, really expensive. It cost me $ 200 to get some okay-ish highlites. Meanwhile I can go into the Westhills Chatters and get my hair done by Casey for $ 120 and it looks 10 times better. I had my makeup done at Cavabien and it wasn’t all that great… I could’ve done a better job myself.
