Chiasso Coffee Company

I’ve been to this Chiasso a couple of times– it’s only a few blocks away from where I work downtown (although further than I usually venture). I believe it’s a fairly new location. There isn’t much seating, so I can imagine during peak downtown hours it would be difficult to stay in with your drinks, but it makes good use of the space just outside the doors. Also, not really much in the way of outlets if you were looking to sit with your laptop.
The first time I went was for the YYC Hot Chocolate Fest, so I tried the special, Cocoa Caliente — it was yummy and chocolate-​y with a nice burst of spice, but it kind of settled at the bottom so the end was a bit heavy.
The second time I got a latte — it was fairly good. I didn’t have to add sugar, which is the sign of a decent latte, in my mind. Also got the chicken & brie croissant sandwich but I don’t advise toasting it — the croissant gets pressed down to nothing since it’s mostly air! (Duh, I know)
Prices are a little towards the high side but average for the type of coffee shop. All in all, I won’t mind dropping by every so often for a drink!

I had always known about the Chiasso Coffee location on 17^th. My girlfriend and I wanted to grab a quick cup of hot chocolate to support the Hot Chocolate Festival, and their website showed us this location.
The coffee shop area of this building is quite interesting — it’s tucked away back in a corner, but the seating extends a fair ways towards the front doors. It had a very modern look to it, and the clientele seemed to be business folks having coffee meetings.
I got a hot chocolate and a ham and cheese croissant sandwich. Both were incredibly delicious. The staff were quite friendly, and the location was incredibly clean.
I really liked this place just for it’s looks. It’s in a modern-​looking office building, and there were lots of windows letting in natural light. The only real flaw of it is it’s location — it’s somewhere that I am unable to get to easily. However if I’m in the area I will definitely be going back to this location.
