Diva Salon and Spa

Ali Taleb, at Diva Salon and Spa, is all-​around fantastic – and that is NOT an exaggeration! After years of searching for someone who kept my hair fresh, unique, and easy-​to-​do, I met Ali, and have been seeing him as my hair stylist for two years now. I have many reasons why I continue to see Ali despite my having moved away from Calgary.
First, Ali is unbelievably good at what he does. He cuts hair, but more than that, Ali is very much an artist. He understands his craft, and legitimately studies it in his spare time. When he isn’t cutting hair, he is still considering other ways to be better at what he does. He offers unique haircuts that suit individual’s style, face-​shape, and lifestyle.
Second, while Ali brings his own brand of unique style to his craft, and he treats his clients extremely well – ensuring they are comfortable throughout the entirety of their visit. He views himself as a host, and his clients as a guests. He makes sure his clients have a beverage if they would like one, checks in throughout appointments as to clients’ comfort levels, and always ensures his clients are satisfied with his work. Additionally, he is warm, friendly, and always a pleasure to talk to. He is, all-​around, a good host.
Third, I think the mark of a good stylist is represented in how a person feels when they are walking out of their appointment. Undoubtedly, I always feel fantastic after seeing Ali, and he keeps me looking my best. I recently had a baby, and even after ten hours of labour, I had nurses asking me where I got my hair cut because it held up so well. Check out his work at his facebook page:

For the last 5 or 6 years I just grew my hair which is super thick! My big cut would maybe be layers or a trim! All of my girlfriends kept getting married so I had to keep my hair long! (don’t ask me why) Last Monday I had enough! I called Diva at Sunridge and booked! Showed up nervous and excited and just let him cut!!! He was awesome! He even showed me how to recreate the look and he is just cool! Anyway he new to Calgary and so he needs clients! I totally think you should book with Adam!!!

I see Minh at Diva Salon at Sunridge. Minh is easily the most talented stylist I’ve ever been to. He is truly an artist… I have never loved my hair so much and I’m constantly receiving compliments on it. Not only is he talented, but he is fun, kind and easy to talk to. I love getting my hair done because Minh is hilarious. He also makes the best peppermint tea!:)
I would recommend him to anyone in a second, although I don’t really want to share him — it already takes ages to get in to see him because he’s so popular.
I would also like to mention the lovely front desk staff at diva Sunridge. they are always so sincerely friendly and make me feel so welcome. Can’t wait to visit again!

Had such a wonderful time at Diva. I had arrived in Calgary after a long flight from Florida and needed to get my hair washed and styled. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Adam did a great job, especially the scalp massage (oh yes!) Pre and during the shampooing. Overall great service!

I am so conflicted about my review, maybe I am too picky? So I will just say I wasn’t offered a drink like normally, when I come for a cut! No cleaning under my fingernails, and no conversation! If that doesn’t bother you then great, as for me when I pay over 100.00 I want everything almost perfect! So won’t be back! Clean environment and I loved the robes! And glad she didn’t cut my cuticles, that part was excellent and she did clean my toenails that was great too! Salt scrub burned my legs though, I had just shaved so careful ladies!

Diva salon and spa, Sunridge location — had a great experience with Erika, one of the new talent stylists. She was very friendly and helpful with awesome tips for my hair. She even gave me a tutorial on how to properly curl my hair with a flatiron! Awesome head massage which was so relaxing.
The spa was very clean & soothing, not at all intimidating.
The staff was also very warm and helpful.
Will be back for sure!

Stopped in last night in the hopes of scoring an appointment for the following day. To my pleasant surprise, they were able to take me in on the spot. Being long overdue for a cut stemming from a previous bad experience, I had all fears disappear in the very capable hands of Ali M. He took his time and kept me informed of what he was doing the entire time. I left happy with products in hand comfortable that I would be able to maintain my ‘do at home. Great job at a more than reasonable price. I will be returning soon for colour. Highly recommend.
