Dominion Drugs

I love this drug store! It pretty much has everything you need and new little treasures on the shelves on a weekly basis. The staff are always friendly, and you can pretty much get everything here from slap/chop’s to shower curtains. It’s nice to just walk in and spend time walking around, as they have a cornucopia of new arrivals allthe time!

Even at minus 20 with a minus 40 wind chill factoring in, the employees at this post office and at this store always seem to be in such a sunny mood. I have been in numerous times, to pick up packages, to buy stamps and to make copies and the employees here are always so courteous and helpful. They even know me by my first name and make a point to remember know my specific postal needs.
While you are there and you need last minute items, pick up anything from all occasion gifts, health products, and even climate items, the last time I was there it was raining madly and I was able to find quite a fashionable umbrella at a great price.
Parking can be awkward, so park at the Macs across the street, or take advantage of the 8^th Street SW terminal right across the street

I drop into Dominion Drugs on a pretty regular basis, because I am lazy and it is convenient. Yes indeed, that is my main drugstore criteria. Now, admittedly, I get my pharmaceuticals from another place, but I love their selection of stuff. For what looks like a relatively small space, they have a well laid out store with a lot of variety.
They have a ton of cards, and small gifts too. Lots of chocolate, and a decent toiletries section too. The staff are friendly and helpful and willing to help you find anything. Need panty hose because yours is torn? They’ve got it. And they’ve got toothpaste and toothbrushes and cleaning supplies too. So even though it meets my main criteria: close by, it also meets my standards, a pleasant surprise!

This place is FANTASTIC!!!
It is right on the C-​Train line (Across the street from Mac’s on 7^th Ave and 8^th street) and they have got EVERYTHING your mind can muster up. I’m talkin’ travel size cosmetics, cards, gifts, scarves, sunglasses, candy, gourmet chocolate boxes AND they even have a post office on location. Say WHAAAAT!!!
The staff is really friendly and I can’t stress enough the fact that they carry EVERYTHING.
The location is convenient, the service is great, and the selection is beyond extensive. Need I say more!!!

Normally, I try to avoid downtown Calgary like the plague. Parking is a huge pain and it’s just so congested.
I do make the trip there for certain stores. Dominion Drugs is one of them. They’re the only place in the city that sells Sleep Right Dental Guards (customizable guards for teeth grinders and TMJ sufferers that are much cheaper than at the dentist).
It’s a big store. There’s a section for gifts, which includes everything from figurines to serenity CD’s. There are stylish lunch bags for the hip businesswoman. Cards for all occasions and all the rest of the basics. Decent prices, comparable to the major drug stores. There’s also a post office inside.
In the back, you’ll find the specialty items like heavy duty neti pots and the dental guards. Very pleasant staff. The pharmacist gave some good advice on which one would be the best dental guard for a middle-​aged family member.
The only thing that isn’t so great about Dominion Drugs is the parking.
