Elite Event At Higher Ground

My favorite part of the Unilocal event was getting to meet new people (I had only met Wendy before). Oh… and the cupcakes definitely the cupcakes. :)

5 stars, 2 thumbs, and 2 big toes up for Calgary’s Unilocaling Elite ‘Ultimate Veg Out’ Event at Higher Ground.
I attended as a guest of a friend who knows a friend… pretty special :)

* Sweet Venue — Higher Ground is perfect for a small event like this
* Lot’s of Parking
* Dedicated photographer — so awesome (Thanks Lonnie)
* New faces
* Tunes — Loved the live duo
* Wendles — our super star Community Manager :))
* Open format — fun is the only prerequisite
* Treats — Steam Whistle & Cupcakes!
* Goodies — Lip balm, and Nail files, and Bottle openers oh my…
Cons
* Not enough people in their flannel pajamas and house coats…

I’m going with a fiver because the Unilocalstick is the best smelling lip balm ever. And I got to eat cupcakes and drink beer and meet really nice fellow Unilocalers :)
Can’t wait for the next one so I can meet everyone I missed last night!

It was fun and everyone was very cool!
I was disappointed that none of you bought into my pyramid enterprise. Who doesn’t want to get rich?

This was my FIRST Elite event, and I must say, I have every intention to attend them all!
Kudos to all the organizers. Man, do you know how to throw an event!
The swag was fun (and useable). I was so dang excited to see those little nail files!
The cupcake decorating — seriously… how fun was THAT!!! The hardest part was not being able to eat it. I gave it to the photographer — VERY reluctantly, because it looked smashing! :) I’m quite the cupcake «artiste!»
The band was great, the people were amazing! I didn’t get a chance to make too many rounds, but I did meet some great people. I look forward to meeting more at future events.
Also, I must say that Higher Ground was an incredible host for our group. I did a quick review on them as well. Least I could do for their amazing hospitality.
Way to go everyone, and look forward to getting to know you all better.

Today is opposite day.

My first-​ever Elite event and I thought it went along famously! Met many new faces, happy that people liked my choice in pajama pants (Who ya gonna call? :P), and the free food and drink was great!
The music was great, but short. I have to admit though, that when it was playing, it was hard to mingle with other people over the music, and at the same time, hard to make out the lyrics over the mingling. But that’s really my only complaint (have to be honest in these reviews, right? ;-)). It was really well organized and put together, and most importantly, it looked like many people were having FUN! ^_​^
So major KUDOS to Wendy, Crystal, Higher Ground, and all the sponsors! Definitely looking forward to the next one! See you around in the interwebz and in real life, Unilocalers! :-)
