Burger tasted pretty plain. Might have been better with bacon, but I definitely prefer Smash Burger.

Very confusing and overwhelming menu options. Difficult to read while in line, high pressure clerk(was not busy) — I was upsold without realizing it, and food quality was below expectations. Marking this one as a DNR(do not repeat)

I had a veggie Burger here. It tasted good, but was a little bit messy when I unwrapped it. The price is the only reason it doesn’t get more stars.

This place is delicous! It can be very pricey but it is a satisfying burger. I can’t stray from the buffalo chicken burger, so saucy and flavourful.

My sister got e-coli from this place and so did a family friend on a separate occasion. Be warned. Hopefully they don’t delete this comment like they did on Urban Spoon.

Fat burger is definitely up there when it comes to burgers. They are juicy, fresh and hearty! I go through so many phases when it comes to burgers and lately I’ve noticed that it usually takes some convincing for me to want to eat one. Other times, I crave them and when I crave them, its bad. This burger hit the spot although I wish the bacon as a little crispier. Mind you, I probably could have requested that. Haha. Any who, I’ll be back and I recommend the old fashioned bacon cheddar!

Nom nom nom! I really enjoyed my first Fatburger experience over the weekend — I’ll be back for more! For dine-in, the service is fast and not overly hectic with screaming kids a la McDonald’s. I highly recommend the Turkey Burger — with cranberry sauce, it’s like Thanksgiving without needing a long nap afterwards!

I don’t get how they claim to be the ‘Last Great Burger Stand’, but whatever. The staff at this location were super friendly, and I find it hilarious the way they process orders. The cashier yells, ‘veggie burger with yam fries’, and you hear the staff repeat in unison ‘veggie burger with yam FRIESSS!!!’, very enthusiastically. Very cute. I was impressed with my veggie burger, it didn’t look like much. A brown patty with pieces of what look like mixed frozen vegetables inside. Not the best veggie burger, but still good. I could have done without the massive fluffy bun it came with. My food was fresh and the yam fries were hot, and crispy, and not greasy. It came with a chipotle sauce, which complimented it nicely and didn’t just taste like spicy mayonnaise I find many other burger joints have. When finished, I went to carry my tray to teh garbage, but one staff member rushed towards me and said ‘oh, no, no, no, don’t worry about it’. And picked my tray and took it to the garbage. The same garbage I would have taken it to myself… it was nice, and definitely adds to the great customer service, but I feel bad when people clean up after me, I am an adult after all. Anyways, this place is much better to me than Five Guys, and cleaner and less greasy.

The last time a friend brought me takeout it seemed like the quality had dropped — did not taste as good. I will reluctantly try them again, but it was off-putting so they have gone down a star. Previous Review. The Turkey, chicken and veggie burger are a treat for me. They have a great kids meal that my daughter loves. It is great they have a generous variety of menu options. My friends and family all have enjoyed the food. The ambience is a bit gimmicky and it can be a bit loud but they have won me over with consistent service and quality.

Liked it a few years ago but the last time I went food was tasteless. More expensive than five guys and five guys blows fat burger away IMO

We’ve been here a few times to eat in and for take out. Fatburger is ok. Not awesome, not crap, but ok. I think to be honest price has a lot to do with it. I should mention that I spent over 10 years working for a «gourmet burger» chain in Ontario, in the stores and later in the corporate offices. So I get food cost, wanting to offer a better experience that McDonald’s and be more upscale. And I think that is where Fat Burger falls down. While they are better than a «cheap burger place» but they fail to «wow» me. So then you become very aware you just spent $ 30 for a couple of burgers, fries and shakes. Better than McDonald? Yes. But I think they are over charging. They aren’t THAT much better. That being said, the food is decent. I would recommend eating in because they haven’t quite mastered the art of packing up food to go-it comes out of the bag an absolute disaster. The burgers are good, the fries however leave a bit to be desired. The Chocolate shakes are also good and very filling. The turkey burger is a tasty choice if you are looking to avoid beef. It would be nice to see Fatburger either lower their prices slightly, or improve their«wow» factor somehow to justify their prices a little more. We’d probably go more than once a year if they did that.

Ok, yes this place is on the pricey side, yes the the service is a bit slow but I recommend at least trying it once. The family was in the area and needed some grub stat; we had eaten here before in the summer and it was somehow better… I ordered the chicken grilled and hubby had the huge double, kids had the cheese burgers. The people at the till shout it out to the back and the kids got a kick out of that! You have to order your fries and drinks separately but the kids meals come with fries and a treat. No McMeals here. The décor has that nostalgic 50’s era vibe which I loved and the kids especially loved filling their drinks to their hearts desire. Burgers and fries came piping hot. Patties tasted handmade, and juicy. I had no complaints, both were good burgers all around and the fries were crisp and delicious. I think that this place is one of those joints you hit up every now and again because the bill was pretty steep at $ 35 but I would pay more any day of the week for quality. A solid 3.5 stars.

Visited this place on Sunday after receiving numerous recommendations from my Co-Workers, charming place, if somewhat busy(not a bad thing though, busy means successful!) Ordered the Big Fat One, didn’t take too long for it to arrive, was actually surprised to see that they bring it to your table! Nice to have bottomless sodas in the meal too, big fan of having lemon slices in my drinks so it was pleasant to see they had that on hand too. The meal itself, the burger was fantastic, I love having mayo in my burgers and the burger as a whole tasted decent, though it was over far too soon, the fries… *sigh* Canada, you just can’t make good chips. Sorry! All in all. I’d deffo go again, probably order a caesar salad instead of the fries. Maybe get a milkshake too!

Very tasty burger! Well presented. I had the chili burger, and my daughter had the Turkey burger. I also had the vanilla milkshake,(I would NOT recommend the vanilla milkshake, not good to us at all, as it had a strong aftertaste). One of the better burgers I have had in this city. Funny thing: we love pickles on our burger and we usually order extra, however the pickles on this burger tasted bitter to us. Odd, but we loved the burger and although over priced, we would go back.

I like fat burger, in fact I’ll go as far as to say that for big burger diner experiences, I’d prefer this place than the nearby five guys 1 burger joint. I believe that in the last 3 – 4 visits I’ve had over the years, I never had an issue with the quality of the burgers served. I particularly like their milkshakes and chicken sandwiches as well. But in terms of the price, wanting something cheaper doesn’t justify going to this place. Cheap, fast, burger fixes are best spent at Mickie D’s. But Fat Burger is a great alternative if your willing to spend 10 – 15 dollars

Had the King burger today. For $ 7.99 it’s one of the best burgers around. I noticed today they also sell a pulled pork sandwich which I’m going to try the next time I come here. I like the fact you can refill your drinks, and they have lemonade too ! If you have little ones they have a «treasure Chest» full of little toys ie; airplanes, stickers etc. they can pick from. I always go back to restaurants that treat our kids well. Parents out there, you know what I’m talking about.

Fatburger is a California chain of burgers founded in the ‘50s and has expanded since then to include this branch in Deerfoot Meadows. Kat and I first visited here probably close to three years ago and were pleased with a new alternative to McDonald’s. The burgers here take time to make, and the servers bring the trays to your table. It is on the more expensive side, but you get a tremendous bang for your buck: the burgers are massive, with fresh buns, and a huge slab of fries on the side. I tend to get a Kingburger because it is something I will never be: I leave the lettuce out, and get everything else(tomatoes, pickles, relish, mustard, mayo, the whole shebang!), sometimes even throwing in some mushrooms or onions for flavor. Kat never strays from her combo of ketchup, tomatoes, relish and onions. You can also substitute your fries for their freshly made onion rings, and the shakes are most likely the best burger joint shakes in the city. The vinegar and Tabasco on each table is a welcome addition. Definitely worth your money!

OK, I am writing this review out of spite. That’s right, you heard me! I am writing this review to merely point out how much better this place is than the new competition across the street, Five Guys! I have been eating here consistently since it opened, and it does not disappoint. The restaurant is very clean, bathrooms included. There is a fun«Hard Rock Café”-lite ambiance, that is just good fun. Burgers are very precisely and neatly made, and there is always a good«special burger» on offer. The seating at the tables is comfortable, well-spaced, and interesting, and there is a summer patio. The facility is licensed, so you can also get a brew with your burger, draft as well. Even their fries are great. I won’t deny that it is slightly on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for.

Ok. when I first visited I was overwhelmed with the experience. Now I have a much more«meh» feeling towards this place. Compared to a lot of other places around town I find it slightly pricey. The burgers are better than any other fast food place. but for the same price. or a few bucks more you can enjoy gourmet burgers else where. I do recommend checking this out at least once to make up your own mind. This place also seems like a lot more fun during the summer — more seating that’s for sure.

This is probably the best burger joint in Calgary, located near some pretty convenient shopping at Deerfoot Meadows. The burgers are fresh and made to order. You can also order turkey burgers and veggie burgers and there’s even hot dogs for those that don’t want a delicious burger. For those of you who want a beer with your burger, you can order that too.
