So, I’ve been looking for another good seamstress since Ivy at Perfect Alterations retired, and finally found one! Thrilled with this find. She is located in the basement of the building with Wind Mobile and deVille Coffee on the main floor. I have taken her a few items so far and all have been altered with care and excellence(and yes, I’m really picky). The last item was a one-piece coverall for going out in the field. So she had to alter everywhere, shorten sleeves and legs and also had rework the mid-section to fit my shorter torso. She did an excellent job, cannot tell where the alterations were made. The cost was totally reasonable for the amount of work I’m sure she had to do, I will definitely be back. One more plus — she is a younger lady so hopefully she stays around a long time.

I went there a couple times for alterations. The price is right but the result was never perfect. It was just fine. I went there for work clothes so it doesn’t really matter but I wouldn’t go there for an expensive gown or dress. I also liked that the job was done in only a few days.

This is the first review I have ever written but I felt compelled to after the exceptionally substandard alteration my poor dress had to go through. I purchased a dress online that was slightly too long in the body and as a result the zip at the back made a big hump. I went to Gagnam style as it was in a handy location downtown and asked if it could be altered. I tried it on in the shop to demonstrate the problem. The«seamstress» looked at it and said no problem, no problem, and told me to take it off. No pins put in to guide the alteration and no explanation of what she would do. I questioned her again if she was sure she did not need to look at it more closely before I took it off but she said no. I returned on the date it was supposed to be ready and tried on the dress. Although the«hump» at the back had been reduced greatly it still did not sit flat against my back and the material either side of the zip was puckered. I tried to tell the lady I was not happy with the results but she simply replied«it’s good, it’s good» so I just took it off and paid for it. $ 31 dollars. Had to get the dress altered again in another place and it cost 60 dollars to fix it. Long story short of you want your clothes to be altered correctly please go elsewhere. If I could give negative stars for this place I would, truly terrible.

I now bring all my dry cleaning and alterations to this wonderful small businesses off of Stephen avenue. Staff is friendly and all of the work is excellent. Jean hems are perfect and only $ 3 per shirt cleaning! This place is better than any other option in downtown Calgary core!

I found this place while I was aimlessly wandering down Stephen Ave during lunch. It was their sandwich board promoting«$ 7 for jean hem» that caught my eye. I had a few pairs of jeans required hemming that were abandoned due to sheer laziness. When I walked in, the owner/tailor warmly greeted me. I pulled out my jeans and he ushered me to the curtained area and asked me to try them on so he could measure the lengths. He marked them up, sent me on my way and I was able to pick up my jeans within a few days! He did a great job! So much so that I’ve brought back a few dresses for alterations and work pants for hemming as well. The quality of work here is great, quick turnaround and the prices are reasonable. I already been back a few times, so I know for any future alterations I’ll be bringing them here.

This place is in the basement of Fashion Central, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to feel hip/posh when I needed some pants fixed up. My situation: I had a pair of pants that I adored that had holes in the crotch that were growing every time my bike saddle got stuck in there. I also had an old not-so-great-fitting-but-structurally-intact pair of pants. So I brought both pairs in, asked to get my 2nd pair tailored to the specifications of the first pair and for the first pair to be patched up. The cost: Tailoring: $ 25 Patching x 2: $ 15 The work was done in 2 days and the work was done amazingly well. Highly recommended.
