This review is for the Deerfoot Meadows location. I love coming here for casual clothes! I do not find the prices to be more than reasonable — I recently purchased a logo hoodie for about $ 35, and a pair of yoga pants for $ 15. You can’t go wrong there!

I used to venture out to Signal Hill to visit the Gap Outlet store there. Prices were decent so the trek was worth it. Then came Cross Iron Mills Shopping Mall… a mere 10 minutes in good weather from my house and offering up a Gap Outlet/Factory Store — Fantastic! A couple years ago when the store first opened prices were decent. This past weekend I stopped in only to find prices ridiculous(in all fairness I had not shopped her since last Christmas — clothes for hubs!). If you know the Gap Empire than you know Old Navy is the cheapest, then The Gap… finally Banana Republic. I used to work at The Gap on Robson(YVR) part time and as such knew the Brand quite well. Since then they have introduced other Brands under their portfolio(piperlime, athleta, outlet) although some strictly in the US. Gap Outlet/Factory store used to be reasonably priced… now they have jacked up their prices to equal Gap(which is not cheap by any means). Truly disappointing. Yes they have some amazing sales… this past wkd it was 30% off of everything in the store — sale or not. Appears they need to charge so much($ 56 for a collared button down dress shirt for hubs that I can get cheaper at Sears & the Bay) so they can make it seem like wow we are having this fantastic sale and you are getting a great deal. Now in all fairness some of their items at times(kids clothing) can be a good price but only when on sale. However the fact these guys now rival Gap pricing will not have me returning sale or no sale. Also doesn’t help I over heard the manager giving the employees a pep talk on Sunday while I was waiting in line(«yesterday — Saturday our goal was 50k and we did over 80k»)…um really not something you should be discussing right next to a line up of customers who have ears. And while they had a ton of staff working… the customer service could have been better. Based on what I know of this empire it appears the outlet stores have a system that is working for them… charge as much as the Gap. put on a whopping sale and still make a 100% mark up. Oh well one store that won’t be getting my hard earned dollars any more.
