This place is now closed :(where can I find as good quality beef jerky in Calgary now!!!

The owner Mark Ho was very proud to say that they not need to offer tasting and even people from Vancouver would drive here to buy their jerky over BKH Jerky in Vancouver. Mark went on to say I would come back and get more if it were good. Well I’m disappointed to tell you, Mark, I will wait for my next trip to Vancouver to get my jerky fix.
Products that are pre-​packaged and frozen indicates they will be stored and sold over a long period of time. Go try and see for yourself.

Maybe a tad generous compared to Vancouver standards but love their marketing schtick with these sticks, so much easier to eat, and don’t need to eat w/​your hands lol. We don’t have this back home in this format.
It’s flavourful too.
Also serve western-​based chinese fast food too.
Located unfortunately of a run-​down strip plaza.

I have passed by Jerky King countless times over the past few years and haven’t thought much of it. It’s nestled in a small strip mall beside a Chicago Deep Dish and a coin laundry. The primary purpose of this business is a little bit confusing because of the advertisement on the window for express take out Chinese food (which is apparently very good according to another reviewer).
Today curiosity overtook me. I wandered into Jerky King looking for beef jerky. I found some! In fact I found eight flavours of beef jerky and two of the pork variety! Having never been a customer before I asked the guy at the counter which jerky was the best. He pointed to the deli style counter and suggested that I buy one of each. «How much?», I asked. He said, «10 dollars for twenty pieces». SOLD! I stocked up on 20, and I’ll be back for 20 more!
As I walked to Kensington with my pound bag of jerky I chewed my way through the flavours. Satay! BBQ! Smoky! Ginger! Oh my! Every flat stick of meat was incredible, sweet and delicious!
I’ve never been so impressed with jerky! I hazard to say THIS IS THE BEST JERKY IN CALGARY! Never again will I buy beef jerky at a corner store or a gas station. Want just one flavour? No problem. Jerky King has larger bags of jerky for under $ 10. Want some salmon? Yah man! They have it, along with turkey!
All of the jerky is made in house. Skip the corner store and the Big Chief. This is truly the best jerky for those that shop locally! This place is absolutely the prince, king and queen of jerky! You be the hungry jester!

How did I stumble on to Jerky King? At the Chinatown Street Festival! Jerky King set up a stand and they were selling fresh Beef Jerky right there and then. Lean Beef with a sweet and slightly spicy aftertaste. I like it. I bought 1 lb. of Fresh Beef Jerky for $ 18 and a ½ lb. of packaged Hot & Spciy Garlic Beef Jerky for $ 9.
Their business card says they are Jerky wholesalers and retailers specializing in beef, pork, salmon and turkey. How diverse!
I’m glad I went to the Street Festival today! I used to have wait to go to Vancouver to pick some Singapore pork jery up. Who knew there was one so close in Calgary?!?
