So far so good on the city with this dog park. They’ve done some upgrades and they’re still working on one area to make the park even better. There’s lots of different areas of the park with some hills, agility obstacles, large fenced training pens, digging pits, and sign posts around to help you understand dogs behavior in general. The park can get quite busy right after work and on weekends. While there is a decent sized parking lot, it fills up and you’ll have to resort to the ample amount of street parking. Don’t fret though, the park is so big that even when its really busy there’s more than enough room for everyone and then some.

It is a perfect size park especially for introducing an off leash park to a dog. It was not too big or too small. People were friendly and dogs as well. Good for any dog size. It was pretty clean. I was worried about the comments on poop but it was not like that at all. There is parking and easy access.

All in all, it’s nice to have another fully fenced off leash area in the city. There’s a parking lot, which is a bonus so you’re not struggling for a spot. It wasn’t busy when we happened along, but it was also a bit windy, and muddy as the snow was melting(yes, in February?!). The park’s fairly large, which is nice. However, the scenery is lacking a bit — for most of the walk, you’re staring at the 22x, which isn’t exactly exciting. Also, the park is missing trees and bushes… you know, the things that make a park a park. It’s pretty plain and I can’t see it being much more exciting during the summer. But the main reason why this park only gets 2 stars? All the poop. I couldn’t believe it. Of all the parks I’ve been to this month(and, ever) this was by far the worst. We had to be looking at the ground at all times in order to avoid stepping on anything. C’mon people — the city provides a nice park at which to walk man’s best friend and you can’t even bother to stoop & scoop? (Yelp Kicks Butt Challenge 5⁄10)
