I went to this bar having a horrible experience in the end! Not only this one of the servers sexually grabbed my boyfriends butt in front of me she refereed to be and as «stupid b**** that sings» while I was up trying to enjoy myself with the karaōke night! We also waited in hour to be served and an hour more to get out food! Never have I ever been treated in such a way.

If you want good wings, go here. It’s as simple as that. This restaurant rates higher on where it was reviewed 3x more. Didn’t read the other reviews too much here. Saw some really low ratings in there. So take this as a wings-only review. We ordered four types: hot honey, dill pickle, salt and pepper and tandoori. The wings actually included wings and not just drum sticks which was different but welcome. The combination of dry and wet wings was amazing. All flavours were on point. The tandoori was a real dry tandoori. The hot honeys went well every few wings as a good sauce wing. The dills were aromatic and you were inhaling their dry seasoning before they hit the table. The salt and pepper were par for the course which is exactly what I wanted. All in all these wings were great. Definitely above average. Dare I say among the best that Calgary has to offer. Four types of wings, some veggies and a beer all for 26.50 on a Monday(check out their different cheap wing nights. That was at 0.45/wing but I believe they go down to 0.25/wing). Anyway, great experience :)

Great bar for the area. Some of the best wings in town. Lots of TV’s to watch games and IFC. Great Pizza, ½ price on Sunday’s!

Came out to see the Sunday Comedy show — only to find out it was called off for a few weeks. Too bad they couldn’t be bothered to tell the local entertainment guides they were cancelling it. So we were there, and decided to have a drink and watch the end of the hockey game. They had specials — 4 kinds of cheap pisswater drafts, and caesars. Needless to say, we had the caesars — which weren’t bad for under $ 5. They also had food specials: samosas, pierogis, and wings. I’d have the wings again, they were good, at a great price. The pierogis weren’t. The samosas were not bad, but bland and a bit dry. When I asked if the samosas were supposed to come with a sauce, the waitress pointed out the sour cream on the table. I said I thought that was for peirogis. She asked what kind of sauce I was looking for(bad sign), so I asked for chutney or tamarind, perhaps? No such luck. All in all, a less than satisfactory experience. The Flames even lost.

Went there for wing night, definitely won’t be going again. Asked for Kokanee, got Kokanee Gold(ew). Shitty food, certainly shitty service. Our waitress was so slow, my beer glass was empty for half an hour before I got my refill. My friend and I each ordered 2 sets of wings, she got both of hers when it finally arrived, I was missing ten wings. The waitress forgot all about them. She went and grabbed them for me and of course they were ice cold. The food was gross, way way too crunchy and you could barely taste any flavour. The worst part was that the waitress kept making excuses for why she was so slow. Don’t bother with this place. I for one will definitely be sticking to my usual spot.

Lots of booths and tvs, tables aren’t too close together, great happy hour deal, and our server was really friendly.

Good tasting, cheap wings($.25 on Tues, Thurs, and Sat), but keeps an awful patronage, atmosphere, and absurdly slow service. The beer selection available on draught is mediocre at best(uniformly cheapo pilsners like coors and bud; It’s a sports bar, so I honestly can’t expect seeing a bunch of delicious craft beers, but these guys can’t even pull off a Heineken or Stella.). Have been there several times now on a variety of days and times. At times, the music is kept at a good level for conversation, but a DJ tends to pop out of nowhere, and he cranks up the volume to an ungodly level. At times such as these, it’s impossible to talk to the people you came with, and you must either meekly stare at the TV and ignore the friends you came with, or yell yourself hoarse in a vain attempt to talk to your party. Service is ridiculously slow; in general, it takes 20 minutes from seating to get your menu, a half hour to 40 minutes for your food, and a further 40 minutes for your server to check up on you; if you get fed up ane ask for your bill, be prepared to wait a looooong time. They only seem to have one or two servers on at a time, and it’s clearly not enough. The patronage kept by the bar isn’t entirely salubrious either; blatantly blue collar types who are loud, and not entirely respectful of other groups’ space. There’s usually a few other respectful parties in there-probably just there for the wings-but it’s probably not a great idea to come here if you want a relaxed night. The only redeeming factor is the wings, which are sufficiently tastey and cheap.

The food isn’t bad, it isn’t the greatest either. The $ 0.25 wings are great. The service is good. Overall I enjoyed my visit and my spaghetti and meatballs. Oh, and the virgin caesar wasn’t bad at all.

Well we went here and didn’t get shot, so I see it as a victory. My husband likes wings. I like not spending lots of money, so I thought«let’s go to the dingiest hole in the wall we can find.» Enter Juliet’s Castle. Although, in its defense, it wasn’t AS dingy as I wanted, but then I also DID feel like I was going to get shot outside, so I guess it balances out. The waitress was nice and super friendly, and the wings were good. Not the ‘seasoned’ ones though — they tasted like nothing. In summary, it’s close enough to home and the wings and service were good. It’s more than likely that I’ll grab my bulletproof jacket and go back.

Wow. Super cheap and tasty wings Tuesday, Thursday, and I think Saturday($ 0.25/wing). Awesome drink specials($ 3.75 domestic bottles), and their drink prices in general are a good price. Service is good, they are friendly and nice. There are regulation foosball tables(Tornado’s) x 2, about 3 pool tables, and Karaōke. Definitely a diamond in the rough along 16 ave. The crowd is more of the older biker/metal but everyone is friendly so don’t be intimidated. Kind of a cool patio set up too(not actually a patio but the front windows open). Wing flavours: Greek Hot Salt & Pepper Seasoned Suicide Teriyaki Thai

Came here for Wednesday night karaōke, and had a good time. The place was fairly quiet, with just enough patrons to constitute a ‘scene’ of sorts, and in spite of the small crowd there were more than enough oddballs here to make it interesting. As someone else here mentioned, the karaōke hostess was a real trip; and a very good singer(imagine a whacked-out Tina Turner running a karaōke night, and you’ll be close). There were probably only about ten people singing in rotation, and the two of us were able to do a couple of songs each over the 90 minutes I was there. Song selection was impressive, but the sound system(no monitor) was just so-so. Other than the karaōke, the place seemed nice enough. Definitely a sports bar(with a separate room with table sports), it was spacious and comfortable. I can’t think of anything else to add, so I’ll leave it at that.

Granted, I’ve only been to Juliet’s Castle once… but I really like what I saw. The staff, while small, were very pleasent, the food was well priced and worth every penny, the drink specials were pretty awesome, plenty of pool tables, which is a major plus for me… and to top it all off, there was just something about the look and atmosphere of this place I really liked. It’s hard to explain, but when I walk into a place that sells itself as a ‘sports bar’ I kind of have a few preconcieved ideas of what I’m going to see. I expect lots of TVs turned to various sporting events — which, granted, this place had… but I also kind of expect bland, drab walls covered in various beer companies promotional materials… I saw nothing of the kind. I expect VLTs, which it had… but tucked into a quiet little subroom, where they didn’t feel like a focal point, as they sadly often are. I expected tons of posters for local sporting events and the like but instead the few sports posters(all for the upcoming UFC event, which is understandable as these are big revenue events for these kind of places) were tastefully placed, and unobtrusive. For some weird reason though, the selling point to me was the look. I don’t know if it was the black pseudo-brick style walls, the red lighting fixtures, the matching red surface on the pool tables, the swanky knee-high tables in the couch-style seating area beside the stage, or some mash-up of them all, but this seemed like a cross between all the things I would ever go to a sports bar for, but with more of a classy, lounge-like feel. Very cool. And as for what the previous reviewer had to say, the night I went the place was almost PACKED… not to the point of suffacation… but every table in the main bar area had people at it, and I don’t think any of them had more than one seat open. The pool table area still had a couple open, but most were in use, and the small bar staff were definitely being kept busy. And frankly, if 16th Ave is «the middle of nowhere» for you, then I really have no counterpoint, cause clearly you dwell exclusively within the walls built around downtown by the surrounding skyscrapers. All in all, I definitely wouldn’t say it’s the greatest bar I’ve ever been to… but I’m hard pressed to find much I expressly DIDN’T like. They could have a slightly bigger staff, but that’s a minor complaint at best.

There’s nothing too interesting I could say about Juliet’s Castle. It’s your pretty basic pub with an average crowd and average service. The staff isn’t overly friendly or personable, but they get the job done all the same. The prices aren’t outrageous, but it’s not the cheapest place I’ve been either. It’s relatively big and has plenty of table sports to occupy your time. The bar itself stretches pretty far, but isn’t put to very good use since they only have one bartender. I suppose it offers more seating for when it gets busier… whenever that is. It kind of seems like Juliet’s Castle is out in the middle of nowhere. It’s just a little too far from downtown to be too upbeat, but it doesn’t seem to get that many locals either. It’s never been very busy in my experience, but seems to pick up a little on Karaōke nights. The Karaōke DJ is a totally different story. She was the funkiest, sexiest, most gregarious DJ I’ve ever experienced during Karaōke. She really made the night worth my while. I’d go back just to watch her introduce the
