I use to live across the street from this grocery store and I love it there products are so fresh and good quality. They are cheap and affordable. There staff is helpful and always happy. They just need to clean the sea food tanks more often but other then that a great place to shop!

On selections: Lots of Filipino, Chinese and Vietnamese. If you are up to trying ethnic food, go there for your ingredients. They don’t have a whole lot of bakery stuff but variety of asian products. On fresh meat: When you go into the store, that is what you smell. I think its because they don’t have proper ventilation. Some are packaged meats, however you can also ask for fresh ones as to how much you want(pounds or kilos). The market is kinda smelly if you don’t mind it, you can shop away, they got really awesome selections, fruits, veggies, household stuff, noodles, tofu, condiments, processed meats etc… I gave it 3 stars because: 1.) Its really cramp. They got boxes everywhere, aisles are small 2.) Smelly. So the shopping experience is not as pleasant if you were never exposed to wet market before. 3.) No enough cashiers. They only have 2 – 3 when I go there, and the lineup is insanely long Don’t go on weekends, very busy and cramp and hard to find decent parking… like its congested everywhere, as an Asian I have to admit, we tend to park everywhere there’s space, so it gets stressful.

I found this place when I was taking my Maternity class next door at the Library. The selection and prices are fantastic. I found many items from Thailand that I miss very much. The parking is really good and we can always find the same stuff and more than T&T without a parking issue. |The only thing is that when they are out of something like canned or dry goods, they are out of it for months. I guess this is because most item come from asia. \It is a long ways from my house but I usually go here at least every 2 weeks. It’s worth the drive.

Another great asian supermarket along the Forest Lawn area. It carries a wide variety of asian items, as well as fresh vegetables. Compared to it’s competition Hong Kong International, I think this place is a bit more organized. I find it easier to find Japanese and Korean items, but I think HKI(thats right I abbreviated it! What?). We usually bounce back between this place and HKI in case they dont’ have fresh veggies/fruits. The only thing I would caution is the meat they carry here. Settle down, it’s not a mad cow warning, but some cuts are a lesser grade of meat so make sure you read the label. If’ your looking into getting meat for stews, great, but I wouldn’t’ recommend looking for anything tender to BBQ with here.

Not only did I get Lucky when I found this supermarket, but let’s be honest: I hit the friggin’ jackpot! Carrying Vietnamese, Thai, Phillipino, and Caribbean ingredients alike, this place is a one stop shop. Boasting a produce area, a fish market, a meat market and an impressive number of overly stocked shelves, Lucky Supermarket is a dream come true. Whether you’re looking for fish sauces, Caribbean condiments, Vietnamese pickles, bean curd, cuts of meat or herbal medications, there is nothing this store doesn’t carry. And can we just talk about the freshness of their products??? Their stock is so fresh it’s still swimming — seriously. With live tanks filled with swimming lobsters, clams, crabs, snails, oysters and fish, and cuts of meat so fresh you’re suprised they aren’t walking off their beds of ice, Lucky Supermarket is a must-see for any Asian food lover. If you’ve never been, it’s time you got Lucky don’t you think?
