I would agree that a one star rating is being generous. I saw Amanda for a couple of years, and her work was always excellent. I left for a few years, and found that Amanda’s work was rushed and sloppy when I returned. The interior of the salon has also gone downhill over the last few years. I was only able to see Janice on weekends, and that sure was an experience! Getting yelled at and having my wrists and fingers twisted was definitely not appreciated, in addition to her telling me that those with standing appointments are more important, and declining to book a standing appointment for me. If Janice doesn’t like you for whatever ridiculous reason, she’ll show you the door. She is also cash-only, so I’m sure Revenue Canada would have a heyday with her. This salon has definitely taken advantage of the fact that there are a ton of chop shops in Calgary, and it’s hard to find good nail techs in the city. The overcharge to begin with, keep increasing their prices, and charge for any extras. It was also definitely not a relaxing environment with other employees in the salon being visited by family members and crying newborns. People go to the salon or spa to relax and pamper themselves, and sometimes to get away from their OWN screaming kids! Basically if you’re not apart of their little«salon clique,» you are treated poorly — whether as a client or employee. You couldn’t pay me to go back to that salon. Since being«dismissed» by Janice, I’ve been with an AMAZING nail tech that does a far superior job at a fraction of the price. Do yourselves a favor ladies, save yourself the money and headache and take your business elsewhere. P. S. Unilocal — this review IS based on numerous personal experiences over several years. Interesting that you claim to provide open and honest reviews to your members, but filter any review lower than one star. Not exactly objective is it?
