Just off work, met up with brother & girlfriend. Xmas eve morning 7:30am. Seated fast, order taken, lots of coffee but service very slow, waited 25 mins for breakfast to show up, they had bennies, I had steak & over very hard eggs(maybe it takes that much longer to cook a 6oz medium steak?) Ate one egg ½ pc toast and 1⁄3 steak. Found a hair(dark brown) under last bite of the eaten egg. Turned me right off. His girlfriend too, as she did not finish her last bennie. Told waitress, who said«oh that’s an „egg string“. We get them here all the time. That wasn’t a hair, nothing to worry about.» I have cooked many an egg in my 49 years, never seen an «egg string» until today. It was a brown hair. I know what hair looks like. I inspected it to be sure. Felt like I had hair caught in my throat afterwards, but hopefully not. Paid just shy of $ 20 for meager bit I ate & coffee. Did not tip. Will never come back. Warning everyone that this location has a known«egg string» issue as the brunette! waitress will attest too. Merry Xmas!

Friends & I eat there all the time! My favourite has always been their Stuffed French Toast. No more!!! I had it at noon on Sunday & should have sent the dish back because it was barely luke warm(the filling is made with cream cheese). Big mistake!!! I was up in the night throwing up together with horrendous diarrhrea. As I write this, my ribs feel like they may have been cracked due to the severe heaving. P. S. — I had a light dinner at home, so …

I attended a family breakfast at Ricky’s yesterday. My uncle only ever orders a Brekkie-Bowl because he loves them so much. My spouse and I had never tried one, so we went for it. Oh Chorizo Brekkie-Bowl, where have you been all of my life?! This is an incredible concoction and my spouse thought so too. I had originally ordered the Calabrese Brekkie-Bowl but they were out. It was a hot meal with some great flavors, spice and fresh vegetables. I never eat hollandaise sauce, but the topping is actually a ranchero-hollandaise sauce and I thought it was awesome. Even the brown toast was good and not over buttered. I may never order any other breakfast item from the Ricky’s menu again, as I totally understand what my uncle is talking about. We had a table of 13 and while the service seemed a tad slow on a few occasions(understandably so), everyone was very friendly and the place was clean. Ricky’s will see my business more often now because of this breakfast discovery.

Although I try to avoid chain restaurants, we stopped in Ricky’s because we were heading south and frankly there isn’t much in the way of breakfast cafes in the area. I ordered some kind of potatoes/eggs/chorizo thing in a bowl… MISTAKE. my eggs were room temperature(at best), but the potatoes and chorizo were hot so i’m guessing the eggs were done cooking first, and set aside for 5 minutes while the rest of the dish was being cooked. Then, to make matters worse, they topped the whole thing with a bad REFRIGERATORCOLD«ranchero hollandaise» sauce thing that tasted like a mix between velveeta and pace picante sauce. I told the waitress about the cold eggs, and she offered to send it back to the kitchen, but I would never do that as I can only guess what a disgruntled line cook working at some crappy chain like Ricky’s would do to the food… She offered to «comp» the meal, which meant taking $ 2 off the price LOL. so yea, thanks but no thanks, RIcky’s! best breakfast in the area is STILL99th Ave Café.
