I was in Calgary on business and previous visitors from my employer have used this hotel and recommended it. I found this hotel to be restful and quiet, which is what I crave when I’m working from a hotel. The reception staff were helpful and courteous. The morning breakfast was simple but it filled me up and was fairly good for hotel food. I have had some better and a lot worse. Interesting note: After the housekeeping staff figured out I was by myself and slept on one side of the bed, they customized the pillow setup when they made my bed. Nice little gesture that show the attention to each customer. Helpful Hint: The parking lot does fill up rather quickly in the evening, so park at the front lobby to unload if you have a passenger.

Keep in mind, this is a 3.5 to 3.75 review. I just couldn’t see myself knocking them down to three stars. While I find the the place perfectly acceptable as a place to spend the night(due to work — I’m an out of towner, as are most of their clients), it’s by no means my favourite place to sleep. My company pays for the room so I can’t complain about that. On Wednesdays they have«corporate night» which means from 6pm-7pm, you get free beer and chicken wings. I wouldn’t be paying for the quality of the wings, but you’d be surprised how good wings are when they’re free. lol. And of course, beer. The hotel has a little workout room and pool+waterslide+hot tub. The tile work could use some repairs, but overall it’s the typical experience you’d get at a hotel of this price range. The internet and cable drop out. Not sure if that’s because of their service provider or bad connections. But it’s free, so what are ya gonna do? One handy aspect of this place is the location(access). Oh, and lastly, this is worth noting: During the Calgary Stampede, they DID raise their prices a little bit, but it was appropriate for the supply and demand nature of hotels. That was the interesting part. I was trying to get a room at the Holiday Inn(near airport) during Stampede, and a $ 140 room became a $ 230 room. WOW. Gouge much? Ironically they’re further away from Stampede action than Service Plus Inns & Suites, and THAT particular Holiday Inn is in a high-crime location(even states it on a sign at their front desk!!!). So there ya go.

Located in SE Calgary near Deerfoot Casino. We stayed at this hotel as it has a pet friendly policy, watersides and the hot breakfast. Warmly greeted at the front counter, the room was clean and decently appointed. Good TVs and channel selection. The breakfast buffet was a selection of hot and cold items, the breakfast room was clean. It was a pleasant stay at this location which is near some shopping and restaurants off the Deerfoot Freeway. Why stay at more expensive hotels in downtown core or the airport area, when this location is just as good or better at a more reasonable price. We will likely stay here again.
