This Starbucks is located in the central hall at known as «Kananaskis Hall» on the departures level(level 2) of Calgary International Airport. It’s a full service Starbucks so really there’s not much to say/know. Pros: You get Starbucks at the airport. Cons: You can’t take it with you through security, so unless you’re hanging out before going to your gate or just seeing someone off I’d wait until you’re past security. Another Con is of course the Airport premium, despite being before security you’re still going to pay that airport premium that everything carries at the airport. Lastly the service I got here was below average, one of the girls doing our orders appeared to be a trainee. I could see this being an ongoing issue as airport positions tend to have higher turnover. So all in all it’s not the best Starbucks, you’ll get your order but it may take a bit longer and cost you a bit more.

Coffee — must wake up for my 4 hour flight home, eh. The service is FAST at this Starbucks, one lady takes your order, another takes your ‘Loonies’, and the last two work the blender and expresso machines. Highly efficient. But you are paying corporate airport pricing for sub-par corporate caffeine levels… eh(my futile attempt to speak Canadian-ese, but I’m only fluent in English and Idiot… I’m really fluent in idiot)

This Starbucks has probably saved my butt on more than one occasion, by keeping me awake so that I wouldn’t miss my redeye. Like all Sbux locations in every airport, expect to pay an extra 15−20% for your already steeply priced drink. That wasn’t a tea pun. If you’ve already exchanged your CAD for USD, they’ll take your USD at par. I’m basing my star rating by comparing them to other Starbucks’. Service is friendly, they always get my drink right, no matter the hour. I can’t say the same for the last time I was there with my sister, though. They gave her a whole milk latté when she asked for soy. While they changed it immediately and this was a decision based on preference and not food restrictions, I can see this being horrible for someone who has a dairy allergy and a long flight awaiting them.
