Starbucks

Good location inside the hotel with easy access to the +15… The staff is very friendly, and it’s not super busy…

I really like the Starbucks located in the Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel, it’s very bright, open, offers a number of comfortable seats and the staff are superb! One thing I also found a bit different about this location is the great wall art, on one wall there’s a mural of «The Coffee Belt» on the adjacent wall they have a really cool mural of Calgary, and then on the next wall there’s some hung paintings. Great art element at this location! It’s not obvious that this Starbucks is here as the signage is small outside, I’m guessing it’s because it’s a licensed non-​corporate location. Luckily this means less people, a quieter café and quick/​efficient service!
As a licensed location there are some downfalls; they don’t redeem rewards and don’t typically take part in corporate promotions, however you can still earn stars but they’ll have to manually enter your card number if you don’t have the physical card and only have the app. This also means they don’t participate in the free refills benefit given to Green and Gold Members. They do still have all the usual offerings at this location including La Boulange, but their ordering process with corporate works a bit different so they may not be as well stocked as corporate locations. They do open quite early at 6am on weekdays, 7 am on weekends, but they close fairly early as well at 6pm. Not easy to get parking around here either unless you’re a guest at the hotel.
This is a great Starbucks location, they have some of the better staff I’ve encountered in all my visits to various Starbucks stores. There’s the cool wall art factor, it’s quieter and it’s a nice place to hangout away from busier crowds. There are some downfalls with being a licensed store, and I probably would have given them 5 stars if they had all the corporate benefits, but they still have all the great usual offerings if you’re okay with making a non-​promotional order that would fall under the My Starbucks Rewards program.

I have had numerous underwhelming experiences at this location. Today takes the cake for the worst.
My colleagues and I (10 in total) went to this location as a team to celebrate. There was one individual who was extremely rude, her name is Keri. She is often snarky and short with customers. (Each time I visit this location I pray that she doesn’t serve me). Our whole group felt frustrated, belittled by her address to us.
The speed of service was good considering it was very busy before and after we arrived. There was only one drink out of the whole order that was wrong, and it was made out to be our error, not of the person who took/​made the order.
After all of that I was looking forward to my drink. Chai Latte. I am a gold member on these alone… and this one is overly sweet its barley drinkable.

My sister and I were staying in the Marriott for two nights, and came to this location both mornings. Amazing service both mornings! The holiday drinks are hard to choose from for a strict white mocha drinker like myself and the baristas were very friendly and helpful when I couldn’t choose! Very quick service and a great attitude! If I lived nearby, I would make this my regular.
Everyone has mentioned that it can get very busy, which is true! We missed the Morning rush but just a few moments, but the great service would make up for it!

Good location to beat the lines in the morning. There’s hardly ever a line, and the service is quick and accurate.

Fast and efficient downtown Calgary Starbucks. Was impressed with the baristas ability to keep up with large orders, all correct and quick. Great Job!

One of my fave locations of Starbucks in the city because it’s never super packed and the location is unlike any other in the city. It’s quite big and intimate and because it’s located inside one of the finer hotels downtown Calgary, the crowd is prime.
It’s always kept in pristine condition and the service is excellent.
The perfect hideaway to sip your favourite java and get caught up on the week’s workload.
