I bought my daughter’s Christmas gifts from this store and mailed them to her in Vancouver. They were stolen from her car immediately. I went back to try to replace them. Not only was i able to replace almost everything, the wonderful staff gave me a huge discount upon hearing what happened. I cant recommend this store and its lovely staff more! Thank you for renewing my faith in humanity :)

I rarely reviews stores or services. Not my thing. However, my experience with West Elm has been so awful, I feel I must! I purchased a coffee table on September 1^st. Loved it. Couldn’t wait to put it in my living room. Was told 4 – 5 weeks maximum to receive. November 23^rd and I have yet to receive my table. In fact, I have yet to hear from the store if I will ever receive my coffee table. Why? Because no one is capable of answering my questions. I have called the local store dozens of times. Over half of those times, no one has managed to answer the phone! The other times, I’m told to leave my information and someone will get back to me. No one does. Have asked for a manager. Never hear back/​never on duty. Have called the Customer Support line from the website (surely, they can help me!), I’m told I have to go to the store. Go to the store, call the store… and we’re back to square nowhere! The lack of organization and customer service is so beyond anything I have ever experienced. It is almost as if someone opened a business with literally no ability to actually run a store and less than no knowledge of good customer service! I will never set foot in this place again once I wrangle a refund out of this utter disaster of a store!

Such an amazing experience from West Elm Calgary. I bought a beautiful sectional and paid for delivery. I was promised 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. I got delivery with in that time frame. Delivery company was respectful of our house. They assembled and took all the cardboard! I heard some mixed reviews on the customer service. But I personally had such a wonderful memorable experience. Absolutely love the family vibe you get when visiting the store. Unfortunately the negative reviews came from friends and family who have never ordered custom furniture before. My sister ordered a lamp that had taken 8 weeks to come in. She was frustrated but happy with consistent communication. She had already heard from a friend (an associate) of West elm about the aggressive behaviour of most customers. Which isn’t fair to a company that’s brand new with what I am assuming comes with a lot of trial and error. Please be patient with west elm staff. A long winded review. But worth it for my new favourite store.

I was about to buy a quite expensive sofa that I really liked. I was asked to order it online to get the color I wanted.

After seeing some photos of the West Elm opening I knew I had to take advantage of the opening 15% off deal. The store is nicely laid out and the contents are of good quality and style. As a blogger, I really appreciate that I can buy separate plates, cutlery, napkins, etc.
West Elm also carries some locally made items made here right in Alberta.
I do have to say that I expected the sales people to be a bit more enthusiastic and helpful and that’s my only reason for a 4 star review instead of 5.
