This may very well be my favorite restaurant in Cambridge. The portuguese food is very authentic and good tasting. The Fish Fillet is my regular staple but I love many other items on the menu. The Grilled Cod is also good but when I bring first timers, I always recommend Bife A Casa. It’s almost as good as my Mom use to make. If you like soup I highly recommend their Valde Verde. It’s delicious. Keep up the great work Andy. Oh and one more thing… they have local entertainment on the last Friday of every month. You can go in, enjoy a great meal and listen to(and dance if you like) to some great music often provided by the local Tony Gouveia.

Meh definitely describes this place. It feels like eating in a bus terminal. I have eaten there a few times in groups and it wouldn’t be my choice. The food seems very spotty– some things were ok some things were gawd awful(don’t bother with any sort of steak, including the famed bife a casa, clearly the kitchen is staffed with short order cooks that don’t know medium rare from well done). It’s obvious that everything is frozen and the ingredients are sub-par – old produce and no-name products(I recall seeing that familiar yellow packaging on a counter). I don’t see the appeal of the Bife a casa sauce that everyone goes on about, it just tastes like warm unflavoured cream to me. I did have a sandwich from there once that was tasty.

Great portuguese food, but terrible ambiance! It’s in a strip mall, and the space is drafty and sparse. The service is good, and much faster than I’d expected. If you do go, try the Bife da Casa, it’s excellent!
