After reading all of the reviews we decided to come here for dinner. It was a Friday night around 8:45pm. When we walked in we were greated by a woman who gave us a strange look. I asked of they were still open and she said no. The chef came out, very kind, and said they weren’t busy so they were closing. I mentioned that they don’t list their closing times on their website and he basically said that’s because they close whenever they want. So, if you want eat here, call ahead to see if they’re open. That’s what we were told to do. Friday at 8:45pm — closed.

Absolutely fantastic Italian food. Very authentic and menu changes according to season and what’s fresh. I miss Cambridge living because this place is fantastic and unpretentious. Make reservations

Recently had my Cristmas staff party at Marcelos. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their appetizers(grilled romaine Caesar salad a must) and we all marvelled in our entres. Everyone was interested in what others were eating. This truly is a special culinary experience. I dont know why the $$$$ rating as the prices are no more than an evening at your favourite big box restaurant. I assure you the food is fresh, no frozen cutlets as mentioned. It is a unique family owned classic.

Same old refrain about wait staff interjecting without so much as a word of notice or apology. The water was; «off, stale, old»? Another in my group of 17 noticed it also. Waitress blamed the city. 2nd glass better, perhaps from different pitcher. Food was very good. I heard no complaints but then I could not hear the other end of the table. A tad pricey.

The chicken parm was gross. The chicken was obviously a frozen cutlet instead of homemade and the pasta was tasteless. I cannot understand this place getting good reviews.

This place is kind of funny. It’s in an unassuming location. It seems kind of sketchy on the outside, and the inside is oddly decorated, and doesn’t look like the kind of place that serves good food. But don’t let that fool you: the food is DELICIOUS. Everything I and my wife have eaten there is good, and the service is excellent. That includes: shrimp, caesar salad, lasagna, and seafood alfredo. If you are in the area and haven’t tried this place yet, you owe it to yourself to do so.

Excellent. I had the Almond Rock Fish and pasta. Wonderful! Everytone in my party loved theirs as well. Other reviews here are spot on. You cannot go wrong here.

Best restaurant in town. You would never guess from its location or outside appearance but everything on the menu is amazing. A better value then Keg or Milestones and much better food. Call for reservations on Friday and Saturday… you will not be disappointed. I’m not a big Italian fan but would dine here anytime.

What an amazing oasis in a sea of mediocre culinary choices. Marcelo’s was one of the top 5 Italian eating experiences I have ever had(I have enten a lot of Italian food). The service is top notch, wine selection was adequate, and the food was(again) excellent

Friends invited us out to dinner last night, and they decided we’d go to Marcelo’s. I had heard great things about this little Italian place, located in an industrial strip mall just off Hespeler Road, so we were up for it. A taxi driver had recommended it to us earlier, but my wife and I just hadn’t made the trip yet. We were excited that we’d finally be able to try it, and when it was all done, we WILL be back. We started with homemade bread and a garlic-olive oil purée — so good — and then went with the grilled calamari(very tender) and caesar salad(nice presentation and great taste), and both were delicious. I had the Veal Scallopini and Gnocchi. Scallopini was tender and flavorful and Gnocchi was extremely light and delicious. My wife had the chicken parm and pasta — all good — and we sampled a friend’s choice of lasagna, which was many layers of thin pasta… no knife needed… so good. The desserts — Tiramasu and Lemoncello Zabione — were delicious, although a little small for the price. The service was very friendly and attentive. We’ll be back again for sure. Marcelo’s in now on our regular food target list.
