Within the last twelve months, I have rekindled my love for road trips. My vacationing road trips have been to Montréal and Ottawa. My work-related trips have been to Waterloo and Hamilton. I drove from Markham to Waterloo a few weeks ago to visit a liquidation centre. Downing an entire grande mint majesty tea from Starbucks meant that a pitstop was needed. I ended up stopping at this Enroute rest station in Cambridge. This one is clean and bright. There was some light snow on the ground as I walked in. You have your standard Starbucks and Timmies. There are other places, including a place where you can pick up bagged snacks and souvenirs. I didn’t use the free wifi, but it’s there if you want to surf and munch on something yummy. This rest stop is well-kept. I was impressed!

If you’re traveling on the 401 through Ontario, you’re gonna come across rest areas called Onroute. These are places where you stop, stretch for a bit, gas up your car, tinkle tinkle and maybe even grab a bite to eat. It’s usually an event because the girlies can shop, boys can get their coffee or whatever beverage that gives them extra energy and, in our case, the dog gets let out so she can relieve herself. This particular Onroute seems to be kept very well. It’s clean it’s very nice and very modern. The tables are kept clean, the chairs are in perfect working order and great lighting. It’s airconditioned in the summer time and heated in the winter time. YAY! Usually what you look for in a rest area is how nice their bathrooms are. Which in this case, extremely pleasant. Whoever is keeping this OnRoute is on point. Whenever I need to stop for whatever, I enjoy stopping at these rest area locations. This particular one is really nice. Yes, it’s even better than the ones we have in the States.

fantastic place to stop at since the massive renovation, having spent 28 years going up and down the highway 401 in both directions, as a kid i loved the fact that it was a mcdonalds, on both sides no less! but they really upped the game by adding variety, but also alot of healthier alternatives. coupled with a smörgåsbord of parking and amenities they really stepped up the game to make this one of the best stops on the lower half of the 401. an added bonus is towards the back of the stop on both sides is a wonderful and spacious picnic area, which is awesome when the weather is permitting.

Nice big clean place to make a pit stop and variety of food! Love this stop, its usually very bz but today was great! It’s nice to relax in style, the sofas are great, grab your food and lounge, have coffee. I can relax here and forget about going home :)

When ONroute were first introduced, the gas price at their Canadian Tire was reasonable. Now that they got us used to stopping there, their gas price is outrageous ! Yesterday, March 25, the self serve price at the Mallorytown ONroute was 107,9 per liter. More expensive than my Essso station in Toronto and even more expensive than the Esso station at the bottom of Montée Ryan, near Tremblant, which is in Québec and usually 10 – 15 cents more expensive than Ontario. So, drivers, fill up at the Alexandria Esso station or anywhere, but the Canadian Tires at the ONroute.

always stop by here when heading to the west, it’s got a lot of choices, the washrooms are clean and there’s LOTS of stalls, and the entire area is nice and clean and spacious. In addition to the fast food, there’s also a store where you can grab sandwiches snacks and drinks for the rest of your trip which is great~

Went to teriyaki experience and waited in line after ordering for way to long, got the food and it was cold, and they forgot half of it. This is the least clean place I’ve seen, no one is cleaning up and there is food everywhere! After this went to the bigsmokeburger, and it was $ 16 for a hamburger!!! Way to expensive for what it was.

This is one of the better Onroute locations because of the selection of food here. It has the burger place, pizza, teriyaki, and of course Tim Horton’s. Clean, friendly staff, and comfy couches give it a nice and inviting feel. Definitely one of the better stops on the 401.

Very clean and open. Bathrooms were nice and plentiful which I think is very important for a highway pitstop. They had a nice variety of foods and the gas prices were not bumped up as far as I could tell.

This is one of the better Onroute location along 401. Washroom here is clean and with so many stalls, there is never a wait! Free Wifi and a choice of Starbucks or Tim Horton’s! Great pit stop before getting into Cambridge and Kitchener area. I would come here often when I am on one of my road trip to Western Ontario Area.

This review is for the Cambridge Onroute along Hwy 401 westbound. This is convenient place stop for a travel break between Toronto and London. This service area offers Canadian Tire Gas, 2 coffee places(Tim Horton’s & Starbucks), plus Pizza Pizza, Big Smoke Burger, Teriyaki Experience, and M market(snacks, food(grab & go), magazines, newspapers, cold drinks, and souvenirs). The open seating area is spacious offering plenty of table seating and comfortable cushioned armchairs. There are washrooms in the front and back of the building. The prices on the food & drink menus here are slightly higher than off highway locations. I stopped here for a driving break and for coffee. The Tim Horton’s line was very long, so I ended up getting my coffee at Starbucks, where the line was moving.
