We had, of course, the lobster roll, which was fine, although not as transportive as the reviews lead us to believe. We tried three different lobster rolls and could barely tell the difference between them — perhaps too subtle for the likes of us. Quick and simple, and a bit overpriced at that, nothing to complain about per se. The restaurant was boiling hot the day we were there, though(no AC) and the odd split half-wall with the pub restaurant adjacent was very very odd. Kids menu uninspiring; fish and chips.

So good! Literally the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had! The chowder is great too! I personally like the lobster grilled cheese or the first mate’s roll! If you’re anywhere on Prince Edward Island you must come here!

Best lobster roll in the island! They have 4 different rolls and I was too greedy to order the sampler plate which came with 4. Hurray! One roll one bite. Lol handmade lemonade was a great pairing

Funny that Tripadvisor is mentioned in other reviews. That’s exactly why I ended up here too. The lobster roll is great, but is presented just like the restaurant itself — low key, low value. It’s presented in a hot dog bun. If they went a little further to get more upscale bread, they’d knock it out of the park. There’s other weird things about this place. The décor is as minimalist as you can get. They never seem prepared for customers. They’re a bit taken aback when we ordered our 6 meals. The gentleman who took our order ended up exiting and re-entering the restaurant twice to get supplies and ingredients out of his car. :{ I kept hearing from my Tripadvisor fan brother how we have to visit this place, but it looks like they’re on the fence about how much business they want.

I am looking for the perfect lobster roll — generous amounts of lobster with light mayo, good seasoning and perfect bun. I tried the Greenhorn lobster roll and it was pretty close. Toasted bun was good and it had a fair amount of lobster. It was seasoned well with chive and dill. The regular was medium sized. Also tried the lobster chowder which was really good, but I wish it had more lobster. Potato salad was a little above average. I would stop by again if in the neighborhood. You should as well.

Had the Greenhorn Roll and potato salad, both were excellent. The lobster was fresh and tasty and not overpowered by the mayo and dill. The bun was perfectly prepared, crispy without losing the soft chewy texture.

As of the time of this writing, Island Favorites«PEI’s BEST Lobster Roll» is ranked number 1 on TripAdvisor for best place to eat in Cavendish. This ranking is not unwarranted. We tried the Greenhorn roll and the lobster grilled cheese sandwich. While somewhat pricey(to be expected in a touristy area like Green Gables), the food was dynamite. The lobster grilled cheese was extremely flavorful, and the Greenhorn roll had a great blend of spices that amplified the experience. Ambiance is extremely low key — I’m talking plastic tables and chairs. The set up looks more like an ice cream shop than a lobster-roll restaurant, but make no mistake: this place is a must visit. Definitely stop in and tell Danielle, «hello!» She was extremely friendly and helpful.
