Rodd Royalty Inn & Suites

Great staff. Great breakfast. Comfortable beds. Real sized pillows and lots of them, fluffy towels and nice looking room. Quirky layout in some rooms with all your Windows facing an indoor courtyard that they use for weddings. Awkward and claustrophobic.

This location has just remodeled for 2013 so that is pretty in the MAIN hotel building. Also the breakfast is a wonderful full hot breakfast in the MAIN hotel building. Our trouble was we booked our room on-​line and we never knew our room wasn’t going to be in the main hotel. They have an tacky old (1960’s?) wood framed one-​story line of outside entry rooms on the side of the regular parking lot disconnected from the main big nice brick hotel with interior entrance rooms. On-​line there many photos of the nice building side their hotel they showed no pictures of this (tacky & old) side of their property. I feel like they were not being straight forward. We really felt scammed.
The room though redecorated nicely smelled musty like a very old stuffy room. We tried to air it out all evening but that didn’t help much. The windows sashes were stuck closed, or filthy, or had to be held open with a spare piece of wood or they would fall back down.
We also had the room next to the laundry room and there was a constant banging of the machines working all evening. That was really grating on my nerves all evening.
Then to cap it off the hotel booked 2 big events in there meeting rooms that evening. Their were way too many cars for the parking lot! Banging car doors on cars parking right beside our window. Cars were parked in fire lanes, on the grass surrounding our units, and everywhere! When I brought up these issues with the front desk I was brushed off… like it was my fault for booking our room on-​line! She said they knew of the problem and had tried to change it once but it never got fixed.
BEWARE and ask a lot of questions when you book this hotel so you know what you’ll be getting for your money!

We were visiting from NS and our friends from AB and we were all so HAPPY!!!
You know, aside from being a bit far from downtown and the ocean, it was a GREAT price and a GREAT hotel. I would DEFINITELY stay here again. The rooms were very clean, updated (aside from the bathroom — which wasn’t bad anyways). The staff were super friendly, the FREE breakfast you get was AWESOME. Seriously. It was no cereal and toast. It was scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, muffins, fruit, hash browns! !! All of my favorite breakfasty things in one go. Did I mention all you can eat? HA Oh and the beds are SUPER comfy!
The hotel is super close to the COWS creamery, grocery stores (for those of you who get tired of dining out), the soon to open Anne of Green Gables Chocolates, and BOOM Burger!
Being just off the highway its a great location for those who want to head to Cavendish for the day or take a drive around the island and see the sights!
I cant believe I almost forgot to mention the WATER SLIDE. Yeah, that’s right. This hotel holds a 105ft water slide. Its SO FUN. The pool is small but very clean and so its the hot tub!
Stay here! I’m sure you will enjoy it!
