Rustica’s Ristorante

Went for an early Valentines with my husband and in-​laws. I had heard a lot about this restaurant from my husband raving about their food so thought we should try it out!
The waitress was pleasant but not as attentive as I would have hoped. We had to flag someone down to ask for bread while watching tables come in after us receive theirs within the first few minutes. We started off with the mozzarella saltimbocca, a prosciutto wrapped piece of mozzarella, crusted with corn and grilled with marinara sauce. It was the highlight of the evening! I ordered the pollo albese which was chicken in a light sauce. It was just ok — the pasta was cooked perfectly. I had expected it to come with a chicken breast as the menu had stated but the chicken was cut up in teeny tiny little pieces and the sauce was over peppered. Our entire table found that their meals tasted over peppered. Not very pleasant. My husband said that his seafood on his pasta smelled a little off but he wasn’t sure if it had gone bad or not. He didn’t feel so well after we got home which was really worrisome. We don’t know if it was the pasta but couldn’t figure out what else it could have been.
I have only given three stars because the meal was just ok — not exactly the rave reviews I have heard from others. The waitress disappeared and never came back to offer further refills of water once she realized we didn’t want any more wine.
Maybe we will come back someday to try something else on the menu and give it another try.

The food was delicious with wonderful service! We started with the butter lettuce salad and another similar to a caprese salad, and they were both prepared very well. We then had the spaghetti with veal meatballs and the sauce was so savory, we’re hoping to find a similar recipe online. We highly recommend Rústica!

Best Italian food you’ll ever have. Fresh ingredients and real house made pasta, that’s made fresh that day. If you go there you’ve got to book ahead. The place is small bit it gets booked up quickly. Try the lemon Alfredo you’ll be glad you did.

Our favourite Restaurant, the owners are awesome… the food has brought us back every week.
If you love someone and food you have to treat them the the Friday’s mussels.

nice service, but lacking in experience and wine knowledge. the tomato pasta and salmon feature were both fantastic. The cream brulee was very good too.

This is an amazing place! It is run by a husband and wife team that works beautifully together. He is from Sicily and is the chef. She is the front person, reception and waitress and is so pleasant and gracious. We arrived in a large group without reservations so we stretched their capabilities but it didn’t seem to faze them! The food, oh the food, was simply amazing! I think the pesto is some of the best I have ever eaten. The penne was cooked perfectly al dente and the fresh tomato sauce was seasoned perfectly. The halibut was also very good. The salads were tasty and presented very artfully! The only problem is that we are from out of town and can’t easily return! I gave this place 5 stars because it deserves it in service, atmosphere and food!

Our favourite restaurant in Chilliwack. The pasta is awesome and the pre dinner appys are fantastic. It’s a small quaint place where you can relax and enjoy a well cooked meal and for the price it’s hard to beat. We’ve already booked our next night out here. There is nothing in Chilliwack even close to Rusticas.

Service was slooòowww. 1 hr 20 m after giving order. Food quality very good but small quantities. Rack of lamb tender like anything. Wanted simple pasta instead of potatoes was $ 6.50. A little steep.
Ambience good except for flickering and annoying waiters shoes clopping on the hardwood floors.
IF we go again we will try the pasta.
Otherwise debatable value for the quality.

Gotta say the service was great and the food was outstanding. The seafood risotto was great. My wife had the halibut was cooked to perfection.

Friendly and efficient service. Fun Italian themed décor. Tables are well set. The complimentary bread is made there and is realy good tasting. We had the halibut. The orange ginger sauce on it was awesome. Their mocktail recipes are cute with gangster names like the Scarface and One Ear

Caprese salad over spiced (oregano overpowering) and over use of the reduced balsamic, was that a tomato? Cheese? Hard to tell it was powdery green and black all over, tomatoes and bocconcini never had a chance to stand out

Hey good try for lunch but I know they can do better with dinner.
I will stick with the veal (not avail at lunch I learned) next time.

Rustica’s has no problem supporting my gluten free needs. Great vegetarian options. Top notch service. I love knowing everything is hand made right before I am served. Deserts are wonderful, chocolate mousse is a personal fave. Some things at this restaurant come straight from Italy. Truly impressed

You absolutely must try their Sambuca Prawns! This appetizer alone sold me on the quality of this restaurant’s food, and my pasta dish sealed the deal. The only downside is that the interior of the restaurant can be chilly in the wintertime, so dress warmly! Atmosphere, music, service & food was all outstanding. One of my top picks for dining out in Chilliwack.

Rustica’s is a sweet little place in Chilliwack’s «downtown» area.
The owner is great and very accommodating, the food is decent, but the atmosphere wasn’t as it could be because there were so few customers (we were the only ones… on a friday).
Overall a good experience, I would go back again
