What an enchanting find for me and my ski friends in historic Oldtown Collingwood. The space is small and intimate – I love the church benches. The chef and staff were very friendly and approachable. I ordered the Winter Prix Fixe: — Fresh Georgian Bay Oysters — Wedge Salad W\Blue Cheese Dressing, Tomato & Bacon — Whiskeylicious Pork Ribs, Braised in Local Apple Cider & Finished w/Collingwood Whiskey BBQ Sauce, Served w/Frites & Purple Slaw — Whiskeylicious Chocolate Boca Negra All were simply divine and very reasonable priced. I particularly loved the Wedge Salad. The service was casual but efficient and friendly. We will definitely be back. I would recommend the Stuffed Peasant to anyone traveling to Collingwood. What a wonderful reprieve from the hustle, bustle and prices of the Village. Oh by the way, do get a reservation and be prepared to wait briefly if the previous party is still finishing their coffee and desserts.

Ate here last night great location on the Main street of downtown Collingwood. We had 8pm reservations and the place was full, but it only holds about 30 people. My only complaint on the evening was the noise level I was having trouble hearing people at my own table. I had 6 raw oysters to start which were perfect, and a main course of seafood linguine which was full of seafood, Mussels, shrimp, calamari, and scallop very generous on the seafood. My wife had hangar steak cooked to a perfect medium rare and again a very large portion. Menu had lots of choices from fish to veal tourtière and the evening specials. They also offered a fixed price menu at $ 33 which would have been a very good option. Again I was to full for desert but someone at our table had the crème brûlée which he said was very good. The Stuffed Peasant is a very good choice when your in Collingwood check it out.

Loved the oysters — such a treat to find oysters in Collingwood. We scour the country for good caesar salads and this one didn’t disappoint at all. Our mains, steak and frites, and duck breast, were outstanding. The frites were light as air and held way more flavour than light as air would suggest. The duck was sumptuously juicy and best friends with the sides of brussels sprouts, lentils and roast potatoes, all of which we don’t normally love but couldn’t get enough of in this instance. Our server was a sweetheart and the chef, Scott, was exceptionally welcoming, informative and down to earth. This is fantastic, honest local food. The only reason for the lack of a fifth star is that the lights were too bright for a romantic dinner. We will return and you should go there.
