Kathys Nail And Body Care

When I used to get my nails done regularly, whether acrylic or shellac, even just a regular manicure I always used to come here, even when I was little. My mom was a frequent customer with Tracy and/​or Nicki. Both were amazing, Tracy moved away and Nicki became our main. She is GREAT. The minute you sat down in the chair (if you were a regular) you’d completely relax and she would work away. I love her! Kathy is amazing too, super close with us and always made us comfortable and when I was in without my mom she would ask how she’s doing.
They do appointments and that’s what makes it so much better. Sometimes then I needed to go in Nicki was fully booked because she’s THAT good so I would have to settle for someone else and was never as satisfied as I was with Nicki. What I absolutely loved was that if I did have to settle for one of the other girls, Nicki would tell them exactly what I wanted and how I liked things to make sure I didn’t have a problem.
Affordable, clean, fast and great. When I have the time to start doing my nails again, I will definitely go back!

I thought I had finally found a good nail salon — as most know, most places quality and services are lacking at best.
I’ve been going only about six months or so. And until recently have been completely satisfied. They are friendly, inexpensive, and until now every girl has done a good job.
I waited a few days before posting my review as I left a vmail message last Sunday and wanted them to have time to call me back. Well that never happened. So, here it is.
I picked a standard black nail polish which I had her do the full nails on two fingers and French on the other three on each hand. For the French she picked up a small bottle (not the one I picked from the colors) with a fine brush, which I thought at the time was also black. Nope. It was a very dark blue. While inside, and in the evenings it does look dark enough to be black. But in the day light sun you can plainly see that it’s blue.
I left a message the next morning as soon as I realized and no call back. Yesterday one of my nails cracked almost in half, I had to cut it right down. This is something that never happens to me.
So I guess my search is still on for a consistent decent nail place.

This place has grown over the years and it is a decent salon — but it really depends on who you get — Mimi and Lili (Lily?) are both good but many of the others can be rude. Listen — if you speak in a foreign language which your clients do not understand it is rude but more over clients know when you are talking about them. I speak several languages (vietnamese; mandarin for example) and knew what they were saying about one woman and it was so mean. I could tell she felt bad. It depends who you get — if I go I only ask for the two I mentioned above — anyone else and I will not. I don’t car if you are nice to me — if you are not nice to other customers I am not impressed. I do not tolerate bullying or ridicule on any level — but that is just me. Other than that — the service I received from both Mimi and Lily has been excellent.

I am/​was a long time customer of Kathy’s (5 years!) of getting a reliable shellac mani but since my last visit, I will stick to Nails Boutique and Spa in Oakville. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that I had nail polish on the skin around my nails. Sloppy rushed work? After one day, my nail polish started to bubble and peel at the corners, showing the lack of quality products being used. What happened to my beloved nail shop? Including the nicer man that used to be at the payment counter? Now there is an older man there who seems to be grouchy towards everyone.

I have gone to so many nail salons and this is always the tried and true one I always go back to. They always do an amazing job and all their technicians are skilled and friendly. The salon is very clean and organized and they are one of the few places that can accommodate a large group for a service at one time. So many times, I have stopped at other salons to get my nails done simply because it was convenient time wise at the moment and so many times I have been disappointed and end up having to go back to Kathys to get my nails fixed because other salons screwed up. They also always use the best products, and never cheap out on the quality of anything they use. Other salons should learn from them, I’m looking at YOU, NAIL ART at 801 Matheson in Mississauga.
