If it wasn’t for the friendly staff, and usually great service, this would be 3 stars for me. Food is decent but a bit pricy for what you get. Drink selection is a bit weak considering how big the bar is though. I was surprised to learn the limited option of beer and whisky, but can’t have it all!

I came here for a birthday party over the summer, and had such horrible service. They put us in their party room since there were a lot of us(40+) which was amazing and private. We had to servers the whole night. I got my first drink quickly, but once I ordered my second drink it took 40 plus minutes. Also, they did not ID. Some of the guests were minors… We had a set menu to choose from which is great; I had the California chicken sandwich. Which was so good! Since my friend had so many guest and had the part room we had to spend $ 1200 I do believe. If we didn’t meet that quota she would have to pay the difference, which is fair. But nobody were getting their drinks because the waitresses forgot. When my friend and I asked for our bill because we wanted to leave the server said no, so my friend and I had to wait an hour until we finally got our bill. I understand that it was a big party, but JOEY can do better by having more waitresses on hand.

So my prior review wasn’t the greatest because we had had the worst experience at a restaurant imaginable however, Jesse the GM for Joey reached out to my group and I and we decided to give the team another shot. Although a lot of the girls from the previous week did not want to come I decided to bring my family and sister since they heard what had happened. When we arrived, we were greeted by the same guest relations manager who had helped us previously. She was pleasant and professional and sat my husband and I at our reservation before the rest of our party arrived. We had a chance to talk about what had happened last week and she was very apologetic, as were we. It was a frustrating experience from the beginning and she had agreed and helped make this dinner celebration more memorable! We had a chance to clear the air before the other guests came(and I won’t go into detail) but it was a nice talk and made us feel more comfortable about returning. Our waiter was Mark(my mom really liked him) and he was attentive. The food was good, we ordered appies and a main course each. I had the rotisserie chicken(which had I known was that good I would have ordered it last week). Followed by the apple pie! It was overall a pleasant experience and I thank Jesse and his team for taking care of us at Joey Coquitlam. I truly believe that with business everyone gets the same chance to wow their audience(their consumer) and some times things happen that you can’t control or you may have misinterpreted and things can go sideways, but it’s how you intened to fix things and create a positive outcome. Jesse and his team did a great job at that and as a business owner I admire that, and believe they have a great leader and a team that respects him so they were able to do that. So good for you, this is where the 5 stars are truly deserved.

We like joeys and do chose to come here. The food is good But service can be hit and miss. Most recently we came early on a Friday night and didn’t have much choice of tables but we made do. Our waiter was very professional and on top of things. We did not feel rushed and were left to enjoy cocktails and breaks between food. I had a Caesar which was good and spicy but just made with regular old clamato and there was nothing to make it different from any plain Caesar I make at home. I want drinks to wow me when I’m out. The only thing I don’t do is the bean — they are gross. Celery only please it is classic and not out of fashion like the bean(so, last decade). Plus it was in a short old fashioned glass which is completely wrong. The bar seemed to be the worst thing here. More later. Lettuce wrap was delicious but small portion for the price. Panang prawn curry was delicious as always and the fettuccine was very good but again a puny portion for the price and then They ask if you’d like the garlic bread with it but don’t tell you it’s an extra charge. All in all the food is very good but really the menu is a bit tired. I’ve been eating the same things there for 15 years. And the interior while nice is again very old and tired– that glass sculpture is past its prime. For dessert we had our favourite and really the best dessert anywhere — the key lime pie. It is super amazing and HUGE. There is no way one person could finish it unless you had it for your entrée! We ordered Spanish coffees which at close to $ 8 each were the biggest clunker of the night. I was actually shocked. Instead of special coffee glasses with a sugared rim, tons of whipped cream and a cherry they were in two white dollar store coffee mugs, no sugar rim no cherry or garnish of any kind and just a spoonful of whipped cream, they were really bad and again the fault of the bar. I think this location could use a Reno — it hasn’t been done since it was Joey tomatoes. The 60s scotch and steak house theme is really really done. And maybe a menu update would be good. And a new bar manager for sure. Finally I thought Joeys tried to make itself unchildfriendly– well it didn’t work– self centred twenty something’s bring their kids in here in droves despite no kids menu, high chairs or change tables because it’s where THEY want to go. I listened to a crying a baby for 15 minutes. Please go back to Whitespot until your kids are teens like we did.

Disgusted by the service we received from here. We were a group of 7 and had booked a reservation for 7pm. As soon as we got in the doors and walked up to the hostess and told her that we had reservations and gave her the name the reservation was under she had a confused look on her face and looked lost. She asked us 5 times what the reservation name was under and we repeated ourselves atleast 5 times. She kept asking if the reservation was under the name Alex and kept pointing at a huge table that a girl was sitting at. I told her no that is def not our reservation. Next thing we know our entire group is sitting for 1 hour by the front door WAITING to be seated. Our gf who is PREGNANT was starving and so so so upset and this was her celebration. After 1 hour we got seated in the family room that was filled with kids running around and screaming all around us. The food was terrible. I had one bite of my meal. This was the worst experience I have ever encountered at a restaurant in my entire life. OH and while we were waiting for an hour, the girls that were standing at the hostess desk were laughing at us and talking behind our backs and giving us dirty looks. JOEY you really need to do something about the girls you hire because that is bullying and unacceptable. The waitress who was serving us was also rushing us the entire time and made us feel very uncomfortable. I will never EVER return to this location ever again and will make sure to let everybody know how we had been treated.

Food & service were equally great. It was Wednesday and still very busy. The wait for food was alright I mean it was very busy so it’s understanding. I drink a lot of water when I eat and our server John made sure my water was always refilled not once did I have to ask for him to refill. Will def go back!

The best apple pie in town! Beautiful place, great food, kind staffs. My favourite is the apple pie with vanilla ice cream and the tuna taco. This is one place you won’t get disappointed. :)

My 1st-ever 4 stars, or even 4.25 stars for a chain franchise. One, they get enough business as it is, plus it’s always nice to give action to the other restaurants. Ordered the Beach salad, anything with candied pecans, I’m a sucker for. Grilled chicken also nice and juicy. And seriously, even half of this portion this tasting good, would be more than pleasurable. But really, it’s the atmosphere and action candy here. Next time really have to tell the boys on the team to get away from the Boston Pizzas & other pubs lol. Love the round bar on the right side when you enter. And gorgeous washrooms too. Plenty of parking, in a good area.

One of the more consistent restaurants that takes the effort and time to be creative with their menu and presentation. I especially enjoy their baja fish tacos but pretty much everything on their menu is solid. Joey’s is a well managed restaurant chain.

The classiest highbrow form of an Earl’s or Cactus Club. I mean that positively. Really. This particular Joey tomatoes reminds me a bit of a Vegas Casino bar. The mood is very 2005… David Chihuly glass scupltures, dark wood, tightly made up cougars, the sweater set, gym Bros in Loc’s, and the workplace groups out to do some network lunching. This was the place to be seen circa 2005 but it seems it has never grown tired or old and the longer you stay the more it feels like groundhog day, waking up to that same 90’s tune. Apart from the back in time, its got the Earl’s/Cactus thing down better than they do, clinching tight on beautifully plated food that doesn’t taste all that half bad… until you realized you could be dining at L’abbatoir or Hawksworth for the same price and be doing gobs better. But forget that! Chill with your ladies or your home slices from the office and network while eating some sliders. Watch the action. You won’t regret it.

Oh Joey!!! How I loved you so back in the day. It’s been so long since I’ve enjoyed you… I hate chain restaurants. I hate when I feel like a place only hires hot looking waitress with terrible food. Joey… I love your place even if that’s my first impression when I walk in. But onto the food I was sorely disappointed you had taken away my viva salad, but I understand why… That 500 salad is to die for!!! I wasn’t expecting anything from it actually. I ordered the veggie burger which btw was really yummy. My son had ordered it but it wasn’t for him. I took it home. And expecting it just to be mediocre, it was amazing! I’m craving it right now as I speak. I wish I was swimming in it. It’s that good. Now, I don’t think that it suits everyone. But it really made my night as a late night snack and I’m hooked.

Giving it five stars for within a 5 mile radius of restaurant choices for dinner and drinks. Walked from the hotel to this place that someone had called a classier hooters. The ladies are beautiful indeed but the food is better too. I enjoyed it and so did the bf. We had the one hour rotisserie chicken and the steak with mushrooms along with a beer, Spanish wine, and the summer sangria. Pleased with all of the above items. Timely service, delicious drinks, décor that’s classier than a normal sports bar with great speaker systems placed within their high vaulted ceilings and a surplus of tv’s that suit every odd angle your head can turn when someone’s in your way. Overall if you’re nearby here you should try it. Good for dinner, quiet cocktail evening, date, celebration event, or to watch a game.(Little pricier so maybe it would work best for people who want to spend a little extra, I’d say $$$ and not $$)

Think of this place as a very classy Hooters. I have been to this restaurant two times,(both times were recommended by the client that I was taking out). All of the waitresses were wearing black dresses that were sexy yet very classy. The food is very good yet the price is cheaper than you would expect. The restaurant definitely looks very upscale but the prices are affordable.

Went here for a evening snack with my sister. Our drinks were the amazing! I forgot what it was but it was a lemonade with fresh strawberries :). We ordered lettuce wraps, burger sliders. Our server was great! prompt, professional and very energetic :). Sliders were juicy and made to perfection. Lettuce wraps were great as well, we had to order extra lettuce as there were alot of «filling». Great atmosphere and tons of parking!

Great food and service. A little loud for me who brought a baby. Our server was very friendly and we really enjoyed the food. I had a French dip(the beef comes really rare but it’s very tasteful) and my husband had enchiladas, which he liked the mix of flavours and loved the side salad. The presentation of the dishes was very nice. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake which was DELICIOUS. Will come back for sure!

More pesto shrimp flatbread please! First time trying this dish and it was excellent. Not sure if it was supposed to be so oily, but taste-wise it was great. Beach salad was pretty good too. Service is great and the secluded patio atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve escaped the busy city at least for a little while. However the seating is a bit weird, seats are super low to the ground, and difficult to get in and out of. The person I dined with was 6’4 and had a really tough time with getting on and off his seat. But overall you can’t complain when you’re enjoying the sunshine on a nice day.

We were hungry looking for a quick lunch before movie. We were in the neighbourhood, we decided to come here for lunch. We like Joeys in general, food is ok never bad, a little pricey service is always good. This location very cool décor, modern, and dark. We wanted a fast lunch so I ordered a lettuce wrap with chicken, it was ok nothing special. My husband ordered a beef dip, Very rare! My husband doesn’t mind rare but this was almost talking! He decided to eat it anyway but he didn’t finish it, for my husband it must be bad this guys eats. I tried it and ya I would have sent that back, the beef had a mushy consistency, the bread was ok, the au jus was probably the best part. But half eaten beef dip later and rushing to catch our movie we didn’t bother complaining or sending it back. We’ve had great good at this location especially for dinners, it might have been just an off day for the beef dip!
