Outstanding food and menu, easy to get to and find as its near Coquitlam Center. Love the authenticity and serving sizes, ordered two dishes and a bowl of hot and sour soup… could not eat it all… Yay leftovers! Great service, fast and friendly… no «northamerican-ized» chinese food here! Best to park at the parkade if the street is full… were headed back here soon!

All my Chinese my friends(and myself) enjoy the food here. Most people say the food is very authentic! The flavours are great and there are several spicy dishes to warm yourself on a cold day.

Genuine Food and flavour. The dumplings in broth or sauce are great. Some of the noodle dishes are light on the other ingredients. I also agree concerning the comment that Legend House is better than most places in Richmond.

This northern Chinese restaurant has not disappointed me although I have come here many times. The quality of the food remains the same. Good! I ordered their specials. A dish of curry beef with rice at $ 7.50 and a dish of green onion beef with black pepper with hand dragged booked at $ 7.50. Added a 6 piece Shanghai xiao long bao soup dumplings. It’s only $ 22 including tax. It’s very cheap. The portion was big. I had to pack some of the current beef with rice and half of the dish of the noodles home. My family always likes to come here for lunch or dinner because of the good quality, big portion and good service. I am surprised that I can find such a good Chinese restaurant in Coquitlam.

Move over Wah Wing! There’s a new sheriff in town. I’ve got a new favourite! Holy moly this place is fantastic! When you walk in, it’s kind of a cafeteria style place, and when you see it filled with Asian people, you know you’ve hit the jackpot! It’s always busy and now I know why. They hand make their noodles, their dishes are huge and well priced, and they make their own dim sum in-house. Since we found this place, we’ve been there 4 times in 2 weeks. Everything random thing we’ve tried has been beyond amazing.

Legend House specializes in Northern and Szechuan Chinese cuisine and is known for its hand-pulled noodles and Xiao Long Bao steamed dumplings… unfortunately the noodles and dumplings were a bit disappointing and just average tasting. Definitely not the best Chinese restaurant in Greater Vancouver, but for the price and quantity, I would eat here again if I was in the area, but I wouldn’t make it out of my way to come here for a meal.

Due to some good reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We went for some dim sum and noodle dishes. We found the food to be mediocre and did not think it deserve so much praise from other reviewers. Service was no better then typical Asian restaurants. 2 star seem appropriate.

Theyve got great food here, cheap and huge portions for many of the items. My fave dishes include the soup dumplings. Beef rolls are very good too, although I wish they were served hot. I tried the tumeric flavor noodles and those were pretty bad. Way too much tumeric that you can almost feel the powder in ur mouth. The soups and many other noodle dishes are good though. Nice fresh ambiance, polite staff for the most part, and they are hard working. Countless things on the menu to try and with their affordability, coming back to try more things sounds good to me. Also, their idea of spicy is a mild to me so I wish the dishes that are supposed to be spicy were actually spicy.

One of my favorite northern China style food. Pretty much all dishes are excellent. You will not be disappointed.

So good. Inexpensive, high quality food. The noodles are to die for. The xiao long bao are the best in Coquitlam and better than a lot of places in Richmond. Fast service, food comes out fast.

I am very impressed by the food and service here! Normally, service does not exist in a Chinese restaurant, but our tea cups were filled with tea many times throughout dinner and the food we ordered(dan dan noodles, soup dumplings, pan fried lamb noodles, and shanghai wontons in soup) were absolutely delicious. Wouldn’t definitely return if in the area!

Yes! This is an excellent restaurant as far as Chinese dining in Coquitlam goes. There are relatively few of these Shanghainese style restaurants around compared to their Hong Kong style counterparts. The food is tasty and the portions are generous. How’s the service? Stupidly fast. The first dish came out within 4 minutes of ordering. I think all 10 or so of the dishes that we ordered came out in less than 15 minutes. And the restaurant was probably at least 60% full if not more. I was pleasantly surprised to find an establishment such as this in Coquitlam. I will definitely be going back as my first experience was an A+.

Horrible service! When we asked a question, our server just looked at us and walked away. Maybe she didn’t know English or something but that was quite rude. The person who took our order was the same lady. We specifically asked for blade sheared noodles(and said it twice to make sure she understood). She nodded for confirmation so we thought she got it but when the food came out, it was hand dragged noodles instead! We immediately told her it was wrong and she refused to admit her mistake. She insisted that we did not mention we wanted the blade sheared noodles and that what was on our table was correct. She actually refused to do anything about it until one of us raised our voice and told her that it was not our fault that we ended up with the wrong order. She left our table and ran off without even apologizing or having the slightest bit of concern and respect. We stared blankly at each other because we were just so shocked and speechless that she did not take immediate action to fix the problem. We left the noodles untouched because we weren’t sure if they were going to replace it. Three minutes later, she came back and took the plate of noodles from our table, still without saying a word. They eventually replaced it with the correct noodles but we left unimpressed with the service and attitude at this restaurant. At least the food was good but the service we experienced today was terrible. I hope the management trains their staff on giving proper customer service. They should learn to always respect and listen to their customers. I am not coming back until they do so.

I’m from Richmond so I’m very picky with my Chinese food. Coquitlam’s options are lacking but I discovered this while visiting a client nearby. Servers all speak Mandarin(and maybe Cantonese), so it’s not a «Westernized» restaurant. Menu was quite big but I think it focuses on Szechuan food and noodles, not Shanghaiese. Everything was tasty. Service is really fast. My friend said the restaurant has prepared food without oil and salt for her relative who has a diet restriction. This is one of the few Chinese restaurants in Coquitlam that is willing to do this. Kudos to Legend House! I have been for lunch a few times and ordered — lunch special(vegetable noodles, kung pao chicken). I made the mistake of ordering what I thought was brown rice, but it was this red bean rice. It was a bit too grainy for me. — Boiled fish was huge and sooo good. — Beef roll(dim sum) — good and authentic, but greasy as expected — pulled noodle in soup with beef — assorted beef«salad» with cilantro

We ordered garlic chilli prawns, Ginger seaweed salad, legend house beef roll and steam rice. The order came in just a matter of seconds and the food was delicious. I would say this is one of the best restaurants in the area. Highly recommended.

Normally I’m not so tough, but when it comes to those who bill themselves as comparable to Shanghainese, in particular the XLB, according to the waitress, then you better back it up. But it’s a doable 3 stars, just not for me to return anytime soon. Located in the exciting new part of Coquitlam, major development behind the mall. Granted, it’s a new building, so less rats ;) Back to the food; found the XLB’s skin a bit too thick, and the juice more watered down. If you had Dinesty or Shanghai River, then you’ll be disappointed. Client had some sweet/sour soup, which I didn’t partake, though it smelled good. Just didn’t have as much stuff other than tofu. Nice décor inside, and friendly service. English passable here. Offer free delivery, and a bonus that their menus are of a thicker quality paper, colour too. Free parking inside the parkade, thankfully since now Coquitlam’s been charging for street parking with their fancy new meters.

Wow, another great spot for authentic Chinese food in the Tri Cities. After a brief 15 minute wait, we were seated in their fairly large restaurant. After deciding on a few dishes, we placed our order of: Sweet Corn & Chicken Soup, Seafood Stir Fried Noodles(hand dragged), pan fried pork dumplings, Yang Zhou Fried Rice, Xiao long bao soup dumplings, steamed soft pork buns and Legend Beef Rolls. All dished were delicious and prepared fresh. We will definately be back!

Northern Chinese food. Service is better then average Chinese restaurants. Lots of dishes are great for groups of people. Many unique dishes. Sauce noodles that I tried are just average though(N10 /N12). Most of dishes are average in price. However, certain special dishes are a bit pricy.

This Chinese diner is… OK…it kinda brings to me a more mainland-China-ish kinda vibe. The wait staff are best conversed with in Mandarin, so if you don’t speak that — well — your best bet is to just point at the pictures in the menu to get your order through. As for the food here… the noodles are average, not necessarily any better or worse than any other Chinese noodle place. The beef was tough and took a bit of effort to rip off the bone, but hey since it wasn’t beef brisket and probably never was intended to be juicy and tender, I’ll give them a pass on it. Overall the place is fine, and interestingly cell signal is low to non-existent here. I suppose that’s a big plus if you’re sick of your friends constantly staring at their smartphones(they won’t be able to use them here!)…until they notice the restaurant’s helpfully posted Wi-Fi password.
