Beware of severely outdated online pricing… We ordered from their online menu today and upon getting there realized the all price had gone up significantly. House salad with chicken went from $ 5.95 to 7.95. This will be our first and last time ordering from them for the value. The California sushi down on Austin and North road is way better for half the price.

Horrible sushi. Couldn’t even finish it and my partner became ill after it. Won’t be coming back.

I have tried every sushi place(really) in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody, this one is one of the best. And not overly priced. I must specify that I have never eaten there, I have always taken the food to go, but never disappointed.

The food is good but there are too much veggies in the dishes… I want more meat, I want more meat. When my friend asked the server why there is so many veggies for the beef capaccio, the server just say, «the veggies make the food looks better» :(

Tried this place for lunch on a whim and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable dining alone. I ordered the mega bento box and was impressed by the flavours and the size. Plus they were so quick to get it out to me. I was so hungry and could barely finish it all but it was too delicious to stop! I’m already planning to go back with a friend next week. Maybe I’ll try the spicy tofu this time oh and the sizzling plate of teriyaki …

An average and fairly decent place that’s great to head to for lunch on a workday. One thing is certain — other reviewers have given this place far too high of a rating. This is nowhere near a 4 or 5 star place. Compare this against any other average Korean-run sushi place and really, it’s about on par with the majority of them. Nothing special. It is worth the extra bit of drive to head over to Matoi Sushi closer to Coquitlam Centre.

You know that old joke ‘sex is like pizza — cuz even when it’s bad — it’s still pretty good’? That encapsulates my feelings toward sushi. Still, some places shine and Mega on Austin is one of them. When you walk in — the open kitchen on the right reveals friendly chefs who prepare aesthetically pleasing and mega tasty delights. Goals: to gradually try all varieties of rolls as there has not been one mis-step yet. I love the garnishes(deep fried threads of yam for instance) and the spicy tuna is delectable. Many friends have been coming here for years and it is obvious from the constant flow of people coming in & out, that the take-out is just as satisfying.

I have to say the best sushi around the area. If you are living in BC, you know there are ton of sushi restaurants from small to large. Most of them are pretty good but not many outstanding one. Maga Sushi is exceptional. We have been there few times after church on Sunday. It never disappointed me every time we went there. It is small restaurant and good for party of no more than 6. If you go there during peak hour, you probably have to wait.

Best sushi ever. You can not go wrong with any rolls. I ordered the snow corn roll and the Austin roll and they were delicious. Lots of variety in rolls to appease any appetite. Very reasonable price. Thomas shaw approval.

Always nice and fresh, not greasy. Very creative menu items. The tofu teriyaki is delicious. At peak hours it can be very busy and hard to get a table as it is a small restaurant.

What I like: Good rolls — both taste and build quality Decent prices(I’ve seen cheaper, but not by much) special rolls should be cheaper. Location– always parking available What I don’t like: Service is on the slower side. Especially if they are doing a lot of take out. A couple times for take out they didn’t put the lid properly on my seafood donburi… It spilled everywhere. I only fault them for the first time, because the second time, I should have known better… Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice… I can’t remember how it goes, but you can’t get fooled again.

Went here for lunch today and it was awesome! Ordered a California roll and Spicy Salmon sashimi. The spicy salmon was delicious, good cuts, decently priced. I would definitely order again. The California roll was good, standard and basic. Quick, yummy place for a lunch stop!

Lived in the area for so long and first time we had dinner there. Food was very good, average portions and average price aswell. I think they have an online menu so you can see for yourself. Small restaurant, maybe 6 – 7 tables. We went on a Friday so it was busy as suspected but luckily no lineup. Service was amazing with the waitress coming by every 5 – 10 mins to make sure we were good. Had the Udon beef soup and scallop rolls on the side. Sushi was fresh without the fish smell as sushi should be and the broth was well seasoned and not over powering. I think we will return.

My fiancé and I eat here probably at least 1 – 2 times a week. Sushi is great and is always just as good when we do takeout, presented and put together with the same care as you’d get dining in. The prices are very good, servers are always nice and everything we get is fresh and delicious, we probably enjoy the volcano roll, spicy California and any nigiri the most but we are always trying new rolls and always enjoy them. We live closer to the center of Coquitlam but always make the drive because the sushi is much better than the closer places.

A great gem in Coquitlam! Hubby and I came here for date night dinner one Friday night on the recommendation of some friends. It’s a small restaurant with about 5 small booths and 3 tables. We arrived around 7:30 or so which was perfect timing because it was quite busy but we managed to grab the last table without having to wait. We ordered the Austin roll, rainbow roll, spicy salmon sashimi, and some nigiri. We were big fans of the Austin roll which was covered with crispy yam flakes. The spicy salmon sashimi had some greens underneath so it was more like a spicy sashimi salad. Portions were on smaller side compared to say, Sushi Garden/Sushi Town’s version, but the quality was there and it was a refreshing dish. The toro and unagi nigiri were fresh, buttery and delicious. The rainbow roll was good, standard. I also ordered an ebi sunomono as an appetizer and it was all fine, although the rice vinegar was purple! Prices are a little more higher than average. Dinner came to just under $ 50 for the two of us, but we were more than full. Service was fairly attentive; they refilled our teas and were prompt at removing empty plates. The restaurant also seems to do a lot of take out orders, which makes sense given the small seating capacity and good quality of food. Would definitely come back again!

This is my favourite sushi place in Coquitlam. The sashimi is super fresh and they have a good variety of rolls and dinners without being overwhelming. I’ve been going here for years and have yet to find a dish I don’t like but my favorite is the tuna tataki roll. Plus, the chefs and staff here are very friendly and often give away complimentary side dishes or rolls.

I was craving for chirashi don one night, and since this place is nearby my house, I decided to give it a try. It is a small and cozy restaurant. Nothing fancy but has everything it needs. The chirashi don I had was fresh, the rice is a well-balance of vinigar and mirin, in fact, I really enjoyed the rice. I think the most important thing for a Japanese Restaurant to be good is the«rice» then the fresh seafood. If there’s no delicious rice as the base of all sushi, then the sushi would’ve lost its soul.

Mega sushi is THEBEST sushi restaurant in Coquitlam, period. The sashimi is always fresh, the prices are reasonable, the rolls are unique, and the service is excellent. I heavily recommend the nigiri sushi, especially the Toro which is very fresh and tasty. If you’re looking for fresh sashimi or great tasting rolls, I can’t hesitate to recommend mega sushi. It’s a bit far away from town center but it’s worth the drive over for the great food. Highly recommended.

I really like their wide variety of rolls. The quality is excellent, the prices are good, and staff are very friendly and efficient. They seem to do a large amount of take out business but that’s not surprising considering the food quality and the fact the restaurant is small(eight tables), Go early(by 5:30) if you want a table or be prepared to wait. Otherwise take out might be the way to go. We will definitely be coming back again.
