This was a nice surprise once given up on good food places around Cineplex Coquitlam. This was definitely a five star sushi joint. Let alone that it was a hidy whole across the street from the theatre. They had some interesting sushi choices. Even for my conservative tasting pallet American cousin who only ever eats plain cheese pizza. The sushi was amazingly good. One thing that bothered me as a resident safety officer was that the servers kept tripping on the floor matt at the entrance to the kitchen. However by the end of the meal, the servers finally picked up the matt and moved it out if the way. Work hazard addressed and temporarily fixed. Thank you for the impressive experience. Reminder bring your movie tix for 10% off your meal. Have fun.

Fantastic sushi. Best in coquitlam hands down. I love how the chef gives his customers free sushi while you wait. Such a hidden gem and its super close to silvercity which is really convenient for a dinner/date! Good job narita, good job! P. s …the washington roll is pretty kickass!

Nice little sushi spot by the movie theatre! This has been my favourite little sushi restaurant for the last few years. They have really good traditional rolls as well as unique rolls. On top of that, the kitchen always give you some extra little bites before/after your meal, which was really sweet. If you are in the area, i would definitely give this place a try!

Sushi is absolutely amazing and worth 5 stars. Their 10% discount when presented with movie ticket for the same night is also wonderful. But BEWARNED: their official hours say they’re open until 10pm, but this doesn’t mean you can enter and order until 10pm. Their unfortunate closing hours are undetermined as we were craving sushi at 9:45pm. When we arrived we were told unless we were there to pick up a phone order we were out of luck. This place should just say Open until 9:30PM as that’s as late as they seem to accept orders anyway.

Pretty good sushi. The special rolls I usually get are pink lady roll, washington roll, crazy boy roll, dyna dream roll. Service is great and the restaurant itself is cozy. Every time I’ve come or gotten take out they always give a complimentary spring roll which is nice.

There’s nothing that really stands out about it, but I absolutely adore it and is definitely the sushi place I go to most frequently. I’ve never had any ‘duds’ with them. I do say, it’s only good for sushi and I wouldn’t bother buying anything like teriyaki as it’s pretty gross. The service is really amazing, though! Extra star for that.

Standard«regular» sushi place. I grab lunch here regularly and the sushi is always great. Nice and consistent quality. Their miso soup is pretty good too. Try the Max Roll — my favourite here. This place gets super packed around lunch time and there is no seating for groups larger than 4.

Great sushis!!! Its a cosy small place with never a crowdedness around. Most items are amazing and fresh. The chef is enterprising and possibly is the owner of the place. They greet you with a complimentary spring roll and hot jasmine tea. I’ve tried many many other sushi bars around the city and must say that their prawn tempuras are just the best. Of the sushis, definitely go for energy roll, spicy combo, unagi roll amongst many others. I recommend not to try the yakitori, schoolhouse roll. Do not forget to end your meal with the green tea icecream! Its simply the best part of the meal! No complaints about the service or cleanliness.

3.5 stars. Your run-of-the-mill sushi joint. Nothing out of this world, but consistent in flavour when you order the«usual» sushi(ie: california roll, dynamite roll, salmon roll, etc…) Portions are pretty standard. The restaurant itself is cozy, and there’s always a lunch rush. Do take out, and if you order over $ 30, they give you a discount. Our office does take-out every month and they have really good lunch specials that are filling.

Family owned business. The food: a little bit pricier than most sushi in coquitlam but that’s for the fact that they use sockeye salmon and the highest quality and freshness of fish. Also the chef is really creative and has menu of his finest creations. «Crazy boy roll» is the best. Everything is really yummy The service: may be for the fact that me and my boyfriend have been going there for a while now, but the waitress staff know us by name and welcome us as friends. Really nice :) The atmosphere: it’s quite small but is really cozy. Busy at lunch time though but usually there is always a table available or the wait is not long.

My hubby and I used to come here quite often. However, after about a year hiatus we decided to try it again while we were in the neighbourhood. I’m sad to say, we were left quite disappointed by our experience. I ordered the Tempura Udon and my husband ordered the Chicken Teriyaki box and a Dynamite roll. Our food arrived promptly even though the restaurant was completed packed with the lunch time rush but my udon tasted bland and my tempura was just soaked in oil. There was no crispiness, just very soggy. When I bit into the tempura, all I could taste was the oil gushing in my mouth. I immediately felt sick to my stomach. My husband was a bit more receptive to his bento box(which is why I give 2 stars as opposed to 1). However, the dynamite roll he ordered was so poorly wrapped that the entire roll fell apart as soon as he tried to pick it up. Considering how many sushi restaurants exist in this city, I don’t think we will come back again…

My daughter & I love Narita Sushi! At first we would just order carry out & the food was always excellent. One afternoon we decide to eat in & what a fabulous choice! They give you mini spring rolls & normally my daughter hates anything with veggies in it but these she gobbled up & wanted more! The wait staff is always pleasant, friendly & efficient whether you are ordering out or dining in. They are also helpful if you are new to the sushi experience. The food always is fresh & we love watching them make it right in front of you. Although I am not fond of some dishes, everything i have seen coming out looks appealing, fresh & appetizing! The parking lot is kind of a pain but it’s so worth trying to find a spot to eat in! My daughter is a very picky eater & we always have a specialty order. Most places don’t really like to do special orders but the staff at Narita always makes sure her order is done right & they compensate the quantity when she omits an ingredient!

I have eaten here a couple times for a close and quick sushi dinner. The service is good and the sushi has it pros and cons. The rolls without the extra rice robe are not wrapped all the way across and come undone basically upon presentation. But, the taste is good. I have tried most of the basic including the Oshinko and while it did open up on me it was a fresh addition to dinner. The energy roll must have benefitted from previous reviews because it wasn’t greasy, and while the Unagi was a little lacking it was overall tasty. If you’re in the area and hungry give it a try. I’ll be back, on another jet-lagged evening, hoping my maki stays together this time :)

I went to Narita Sushi for takeout a few weeks ago, and I was utterly unimpressed. There were good reviews on Unilocal and I heard a few good things about their veggie rolls, but clearly the people giving me this advice were uninformed. The rolls were flavourless and the veggies in my tempura rolls had been MICROWAVED. Just plan gross. I love sushi and generally clean my plate, but I ended up throwing most of this sushi away because it wasn’t worth the calories.

To sum up…*sad face* Normally, when a restaurant serves tasteless low quality food or has awful service, I feel like Robin Hood, swooping in to expose the phonies and separate the amazing places from those that are absolute crap and need to whither and die. Unfortunately, Narita represents a rare case, and I feel truly bad about having to give this place one star. It really deserves one star, but the service was so amazing and friendly I just feel sad… the owners and chefs are some of the nicest, helpful, and giving in the restaurant industry. They constantly give you little freebie tasting plates and act like you are the joy of their world… I want to cry then that they are completely ignorant about the quality and taste of their food. Its almost like they were all high or hypnotized, or under a strange spell. Over and over, they were friendly and doe-eyed, and presented treat after free treat of awful food. At the end, I almost felt crazy… It started with the perma-smiled host bringing a pair of adorable little baby spring rolls to the table, bowing deeply as we «oohed and ahhhed» at the cute presentation. When we bit in, it was a tasteless vegetable goo reminiscent of undercooked wet puff pastry mixed with wet newspaper. I ordered some unagi and Tamago Nigiri, which was presented with a flourish, but the unagi was a little ripped up scrap of cold eel, and the tamago was ice cold and oddly sliced… thick on one end, thin on the other, falling off lopsided on the rice. I also ordered the energy roll, and while the salmon tempura on top was sort of edible, the roll overall was saturated with grease and the california roll underneath was completely tasteless, and again had more of a newspaper glue taste. Its the first time I have ever wanted some salt with my sushi… gimme something, something to make it taste better! I began to look around the room, and the only people with smiles seemed to be the staff. Suddenly, a sushi chef appeared with a deep grin on his face(shouldn’t all good sushi chefs be jerks???), and presented us with two pieces of deep-fried california roll, as a treat. the pieces they gave us were so awful tasting, I warned my dinner companion not to try. It tasted just like what warm steamed fish food might taste like. *Barf* More nothingness goo. If only I could snap my fingers and go home… anything to get out of this strange place of huge smiles and utter disappointment. Positive note: I have a sneaking feeling that people who love the Old Spaghetti Factory, will love it here.

This is a nice little Japanese place just right around Superstore and Silvercity. The service is great, they’re friendly and very hospitable. The menu is quite extensive, a ton of things to choose from. Although I don’t really like that sometimes, they do have pictures around of their orders, so it makes it easy for you to decide!

Went for a quick bite after watching a matinée at Silver City cinemas next door. Was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was open at 2pm! I had a chicken donburi bowl combo that came with a California roll. The food was okay — nothing special. The donburi was small compared to other places. It was very ordinary — very homemade… as in «mom & pop shop» homemade. Most places nowadays deep fry the chicken… this place does not. Overall this place was okay — not gross, not great… but okay.
