I went for a full leg and Brazilian; spots were missed, and no topical creams/products were used before OR after, meaning I was very irritated the whole way home and actually ended up getting a very severe rash. I followed all the recommendations that I got both in the salon and online. For the price I paid, I expected better. Not to mention the rash didn’t clear up in time for my Hawaiian vacation 4 days later. I won’t be back.

Speaking as a bloke, a good haircut is hard to find. Either they’re way fancy and cost too much(I’m looking at you Thumpers), or they’re more concerned with removing the maximum amount of hair in the shortest possible time(with possible collateral damage; see all other gent’s haircuts around downtown Halifax for this). Herman at Wish in Dartmouth is the middle ground! He’s got old school barbering skills(straight razor etc), but also actually takes time to give you an actual haircut. I’ve also had a few other cuts by other members of the team and have absolutely no complaints. My wife is a regular.

I have to start with the beginning of my experience I picked this salon for my wedding day(hair and make-up) because of the professional phone call I had with one of the managers. After calling around to many places I went with the Wish Salon because of price and professionalism. Boy was I wrong… I had 2 phone conversations and at least 3 emails confirming my morning appointments only to arrive the morning of my wedding to find out we were not booked??? we had a… very bitchy… person working the front desk say that we were never booked… I was very disappointed to say the least We got 2 hair and 3 make up fit in but another bridesmaid went to another salon for hair and 2 went without make up they took $ 20 off the bill… which is complete crap and if I had other choices I wouldn’t have stayed but salons book up on May long weekends I would never recommend anyone going here… I am still waiting for a phone call from the Manager/owner for her explanation and apologies… it’s been a week I have to say though… the girls working there are wonderful, professional and very good at their jobs the hair and make up that was able to be squeezed in was very nice… it’s management and owners that need a a kick in the butt… someone else should be running that place because those who are… need more education NO more Wish for me and anyone who asked bow my morning of my wedding was…
