That is too bad some people on here had not so good experiences at the Riverhouse because I had such a fabulous time. My husband and I met with another couple here a few weeks ago where we had such a pleasant experience. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess Natasha, sat on the beautiful patio, and served by a fabulous server Zoe who recommended some amazing food choices. I am definitely coming back here throughout the summer. 5 stars.

The food was just okay. Nothing anymore special than your average restaurant. The chefs choice was excellent. The seafood casserole was a huge disappointment. It was just baked seafood chunks with cheese melted on top of it. The oysters were good but the salad that came with it was served with goat cheese that was musky and over powered everything. It left a bad taste. The service was horrible. It started out okay but when it came to splitting the checks, that’s when it went over the servers head. She messed it all up and forgot who ordered what. Very disappointing to what could have been a lovely dinner.

Stopped in for Sunday dinner and to enjoy the sunset from the deck. A comfortable spot on the water in Delta, BC near a marina. We split a calamari appetizer and I had pasta and my companion had the Sunday special — prime rib and Yorkshire pudding. For dessert we shared homemade strawberry cheese cake. A fine bottle of California red Zinfandel complimented the meal. It was a wonderful evening.

I love this place. I have been going for years and always have a great meal. The staff are lovely and the deck on a sunny day is like a mini vacation. A destination restaurant that you will frequent.

Came here on Mother’s Day, had reservations. Arrived and hostess had no clue where to seat us, followed her through the dining room, then through kitchen corridor where the buffet was set up and people lined up, we eventually emerged into the pub side and the hostess pointed to the pathetic table in the middle of a group surrounded by televisions playing sports. When asked if we can sit outside on the deck on plastic seats it took 10minutes for an answer. Once seated we gave it 10minutes to be served and no server came so we left. On exiting we heard all sorts of people complaining, ‘I’ve been waiting for my food, for my bill etc’ 1) Reservations means you should have a proper table in the dining room? 2) Touring the restaurant with a baby in car seat and a 5yr old for Mothers Day doesn’t seem appropriate Don’t go here

You can definitely tell the River House focuses on fresh ingredients. We ordered the calamari, deep fried pickles, kale salad, spaghettini and featured halibut. The calamari was melt in your mouth. Deep fried pickles were breaded, instead of beer battered, and tasted crunchy and amazing. Unfortunately the halibut and seafood in the spaghettini were overcooked. Flavour-wise, the main dishes seemed to fall short. Nothing spectular, but decent enough. Finally, the service was excellent considering how large our group was! The River House is one of those places that you say to yourself…“huh, I had no idea this was even here…”. The location is quite nice with a beautiful patio that looks out onto the water. Though getting there seems like you are driving out into the middle of nowhere.

On Sunday April 5 my partner and I went to this place for a bite, sat beside a table of six. Sever zara went by us 4 times, never once acknowledge us. After 20 mins still nobody came so my partner decided to go to the bar to get us a drink. Arrived back at the table empty handed because he didn’t want to enbarrass Zara and instead asked her to deliver us our drinks. After 5 mins we finally got our drinks and she took our food order. We ate then went to pay and I told my partner no tip which is very out of the ordinary for me because i am a server for a big company. He paid with a credit card and when he got to the tipping option the machine wouldn’t allow us to not tip kept going back to 15% so we asked her how to skip the tip option. She responded by saying what your not going to tip me. I then told her no and I wasn’t going to say anything but since you asked Ill tell you why. As soon as I begin to tell her you made us wait 20 minute and before I could say more she cut me off yelling if your not going to tip me don’t come back and she repeated it 3 times. I said yes i am coming back and she said no your not your not coming back here if your not going to tip me. So I asked the bartender if I could speak to the manager and he said no there is no manager here. I asked for a card so I could call the manager myself. Went to my car called Louise Greene the manager immediately. She informed me that she was on site so I was lied to by the bartender. I told Louise what had happened and she was shocked and said it should not have happened she will talk to Zara and call me back and she never did and its been over 24 hours. I feel like we were descriminated because we were the only coloured people in the restaurant. Every other patron was cacausion. Never have felt so belittled especially this day in age where this behavior should be intolaberale but seemed to be OK by them.

A great place, if a little out of the way. Located right on the river just with lovely views year-round. They have a nice patio for warmer days. The décor is comfortable and classy, and this time of year they are very nicely decorated for Christmas. They have a private room would be a fantastic spot for a Christmas party of 20 or so people, or a meeting(free wifi) etc anytime. The food is consistent and great, service is always good but on my latest visit here service was spectacular. I had reserved their private meeting room for a group and we were treated very well, efficient, friendly and attentive. All of the group that was in attendance had never been before and mentioned they would be going back as they enjoyed it that much. Great happy hour specials, $ 3 beer and $ 3 off the appy menu. I believe they have other nightly specials as well, but I’m not sure where you’d find that information(besides calling them).

Excellent excellent food. Tast and filling, but not overpowering. Wonderfully conceived and prepared dishes. The seafood crepes I had were creamy and deliciius. And the crème brûlée for dessert was the best I’ve ever tasted. My companions meals were by all accounts appreciated greatly. The dining experience at this point was already memorable. Who would’ve thought something could be added to it that would be noticed, that would be remembered amidst the culinary delight we were enjoying, and make it even better? But our wonderful waiter did just that. Aimee was superb, a natural, one of the best examples of the profession I have ever met. Engaging, friendly, knowledgeable of the dishes and their preparation, and just a wonderful person. She was the perfect compliment to our fantastic dining experience. And what a perfect setting to have a nice meal on a sunny afternoon. It was my last day of a three week holiday in Vancouver and I couldn’t think of a better locale to spend it. I would take family here, friends, business associates. And it would be one of the first places I went if I wanted to spend the afternoon reading a hood book enjoying good food. Bookmarking this place for certain! A heads up to brides and wedding planners, this would be a fantastic, memorably different location for a reception.

Go for the warm seafood salad. My wife and I go every few weeks and we both order the salad. Worth the trip. The service is pleasant and the view is also so peaceful and relaxing.

The food was delicious, well priced, and huge portions. However the service was not that great. We had a big group in the private room and it took forever for the server to take our orders and get us coffee and such. There were no other customers in the restaurant so the slowness was surprising.

we just had lunch here and it was a very nice afternoon on the patio. the food was really good and our server(whose name I swore I’d remember, but didn’t) was very pleasant and accommodating. the view is nice and its on the Millennium Trail. my wife had the chicken pot pie and I had the halibut and chips. not inexpensive, but good just the same. I gave only four stars because some of the condiment containers could use a wipe, and when we were given the dessert menu, we weren’t told of the dessert that they were out of… which of course was our first choice!

My husband and I usually love going to the River House Restaurant for special dinners, however, recently we were there for a celebration dinner and were not impressed. Our waitress was professional in every sense of the word but the food was awful. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was soggy and rubbery — we sent it back. When dinner arrived both of our entrees were overlooked and not enjoyable. We were both very disappointed with the food — this can be a lovely restaurant but I don’t think we will return unless the kitchen staff change.

I moor my boat at the Marina so we would sometimes eat at the Riverhouse after a day out cruising. The burgers are gourmet quality, the quesadilla is massive and bottomless drinks and great service really stand out. It’s not a cheap meal but the quality is very good. A great meal after a long cruise on the water. «All» of the staff are so damn friendly too!

I should have reviewed this back in August when I went, but better late than never! I had dinner here with a large group for a rehersal dinner for a wedding. We had a private room with a long table and a great view of the water. They had a set menu for us to choose from, there was fish, prime rib and a vegetarian pasta. I had the pasta and it was really nice. Or did I have fish back then? Wow, my brain is turning to mush, I can’t remember things from August. Anyway, whatever mysterious meal I had I DO remember that I liked it. The service was great, but I’m not sure what the prices was like, as dinner was generously taken care of by the Groom’s Mother. I had a few glasses of wine, they seem to have a nice selection, and I liked both the red and the white that we had. This isn’t the type of place I would come to often. It’s not really in my neck of the woods and it’s pretty fancy. Well, kind of fancy. Anyway, it was good, I liked it and if you want to have a private dinner with a medium sized group I would give these guys a call.

This is one of those situations where I am conflicted about reviewing a place that I love. The River House, you see, has, arguably, the best patio of any pub in the lower mainland. It’s right on the marina just to the east of the Tunnel, but far enough away from it that you don’t get any of the traffic noise — just a distant view of the poor schmucks who are heading into the city for a bite to eat because they don’t know any better. The food here is great and the staff is always friendly. They show all the Canucks games, too, so if it’s hockey season and too cold to sit outside, you can grab a comfy chair by the fire and watch the ‘nucks get their ass kicked yet again. I mean, chances are they are going to lose — why shouldn’t you be comfy and have a tasty beverage at hand while they do it?
