Werner’s Auto Klinik

I have used Werners Auto Klinik for years and have been very happy until now…
I had a vehicle (2005 Ford Ranger) that was doing some weird things mechanically. I brought it into Werner’s shop and was advised by Werner that he was 99.9% sure what the issue was and it would cost me $ 450.00. I said if it corrects the problem, go ahead and do it.
Well lone behold, it didn’t correct it so I contacted Werner and he said that he told me that he would have his transmission guy look at it, which is now a $ 1500.00 job for a band aid solution as he put it or a $ 3000.00 job for a total complete job.
I told Werner that I would not have given him the go ahead for the $ 450.00 as this vehicle is 11 years old and would appreciate a refund. I have since written a letter to him and he has not responded which tells me that he does not need my business.
He now has lost my business for good and I am considering in taking him to small claims court.
Werner is a good mechanic, however, he deceived me in spending the $ 450.00 for a job that he did and did not correct. He said on the phone that he will not refund me that amount as it’s not fair to him (are you kidding me!) unless I spend the $ 1500.00 or $ 3000 which is absurd for a vehicle this old.
