Cloverleaf estimated it would take 10 yards to fix my driveway after it severely flooded this spring. Believing John Loney knew what he was talking about I agreed to hire him. When it turned out he was wrong, he chose not to allow me to order more gravel in order to have the driveway completely covered, even after I called the gravel company and they agreed to bring more gravel, right away, in their loader. He spread the gravel so thin that it didn’t make it to the end of the driveway. He set the stones back on top of the gravel without levelling the whole driveway and with no sand underneath for support. He did put some sand under the corners of some blocks but they are already shifting. He thinks he did a good job because«I AGREEDTO10YARDS». If he told me I needed 50 yards I would have agreed. He knew when he started spreading the gravel it wasn’t going to be enough but did nothing to make sure he fulfilled the job he was hired to do. His reason for not wanting more gravel delivered was«that’s going to make more work for us». I am a woman and I live alone so I guess he thinks he doesn’t have to provide the same standard of customer service. I ended up going to the gravel yard and they loaded gravel in the trunk of my car for me. I shovelled it from my trunk onto the area he did not finish and flattened it with my car and even after all that he still believed he should be paid his original price. I have not paid him his original price; I paid him what he is worth and that amount is to cover his costs and employee wages. He put his unprofessional and inadequate work and errors on me because he said«I agreed to 10 yards». All my conversations with John Loney are documented by email and texts. The response by the owner, John Loney, shows that he takes no responsibility for his inadequate work and inability to finish a job. I am not required to take down my review; I am leaving my review on Unilocal due to the poor customer service and his combative behaviour as a business man. His comment speaks volumes about his character. JUNE19, 2014 I am adding an update photo regarding John Loney’s work. I hired him to «fix» my flooding issue! Still think you did a good job Loney?
