Popped in here for lunch the other day with my aunt while visiting Vancouver Island. I confess that I haven’t been to a non AYCE sushi restaurant before so I was a little disappointed to find out that this place is NOTAYCE(only because I love sushi so much!). The two of us ended up ordering four types of sushi: Sake roll, dynamite roll, yam roll, and rainbow roll. The verdict: loved the yam roll and the dynamite roll, the rainbow roll was moderately good, but I was a bit disappointed with the normal sake roll(just salmon and rice). The rice on the sake roll seemed different than the rice on the other rolls — and not in a good way. Also, I found that the salmon was pretty small and flavourless — not what I am used to at some other sushi spots I frequent. But maybe I’m just biased. I would definitely come back here and order the yam roll and the dynamite roll again. They were simply amazing. Prices were a little higher than what I’m used to back home in Ottawa, so that was a bit of a downside. The service was also great — our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and was very patient explaining different options to my aunt(who has difficulty eating certain foods). She gets five stars hands down. The décor inside is a little bland and the seating isn’t the most comfortable but I would definitely come here again if I was in the area and craving sushi.

Best sushi and customer service in Duncan. There’s a Korean \sushi place around the corner, don’t go there, please. This place has everything delicious, and the owner/waitress is very kind and entertaining.

The lighting is too dark and temperature was cool. Flavour was pretty good but didn’t taste fresh. I rate food appearance low only because it is difficult to see the layers of ingredients with the low lighting. Waitress was friendly.

Went to Nha Trang a few weeks ago and probably would not go back. Ordered some salmon sashimi and the pieces were quite thin, not what I was expecting. The crab chowder was good, but pretty small serving. We were still hungry when we left, but spent more than $ 30 each for our meals. We ordered our food before most of the people around us, yet our food was the last to arrive. The people around us were actually able to eat their food, pay, and leave, before our food arrived. Nothing special or fancy about our order, I was stumped. Not worth the money, can’t think of a saving grace for this restaurant.

It would seem that great Sushi is not always found in the downtown«Hipster» locales of Victoria, Vancouver or Calgary(Calgary?) but in those never thought of reaches of the upper-lower Vancouver Island; Duncan, BC to be exact. We were on our way«Up-Island» to Courtenay & Mt Washington and wanted Vietnamese for lunch and Trip Advisor said«Head to Nha Trang!»; so we did. The resto offers a mix of Viet and Sushi choices and this time we stuck to our Viet guns and had Satay Phở(yummy spicy), Garden Roll(fresh and hand made), Spring Roll(delish) and a lunch special. The food was great and the service was sooo very friendly and professional and the same time. How much did we like it? Well, we stopped in for Sushi two days later on the way back to Sooke! The Sushi is billed at «The Best on Vancouver Island». Is it really? Well I have not explored every nook and Sushi cranny on the Island but you will have to work hard to find Sushi better than this. Very fresh, lovely textures and very large portions for the price will keep me coming back. The«Cooked Platter» was two x 8-piece rolls and 1×6-piece roll for $ 16. The Tempura(2 x Shrimp, 2 x Sweet Potato slice, 2 x Zucchini slice, 1 x Cauliflower flower &1 x Broccoli flower) was very tasty but might have been pricey as $ 12. If I were looking for Sushi + scenery not even the poor drivers on the Malahat would keep me away! In the immortal words of Tiny Winky«Again Again!» Visited January 2013

My sister visited town so we decided to go visit this place since Duncan doesn’t have many Asian dining places. Food was little pricy and tasted mediocre. But hey, not bad for Duncan. When I received the check, I saw that either waitress or the owner had put the 15% tip on my bill already WITHOUT asking us. And they didn’t even mention it to us even after I put my credit card into chip reader to pay. The credit card machine prompted me to TIP as well! Lucky I saw the bill included 15% tip before I paid with credit card. Be ware. Owner or manager never mentioned about tip being included in the bill and didn’t even mention it when I was paying with credit card. Never had place includes the tip in the bill without telling me for party of three. Will not go back. I’m giving 3 stars because the food was ok for Duncan.

I went to Nah Trang with my family for my birthday back in October. There were six adults and three kids and apparently that was a bit too big of a table for Nah Trang to handle. We waited over an hour for our food, people came in and left in the time we waited for our meal to arrive. The kids were so restless at that point it was hard to enjoy the food when it finally arrived. My husband and I ordered one of their«Love Boats» for $ 50 and received 12 pieces of sushi and some miso soup, it was NOTWORTH $ 50! I was extremely disappointed with the amount of sushi for the price, I totally felt ripped off. The sushi was good but I’ve definitely had better. Not worth the amount of money they charge. The décor was average and the lighting was extremely dark, it also felt very crowded. All 6 adults including myself decided to not go back to Nah Trang due to our terrible service and overpriced food.
