CLOSING! We live about an hour away, Victoria, but we’ve been here a few times and enjoyed it. Sadly, we went by there today and saw there was a «For Lease» sign in the window and another sign about lease/sale of kitchen equipment, so it looks like they’re closing! It’s really too bad, because this was a neat little place for Duncan — friendly staff, tasty and fresh food options, and live music. Ah, well.

Very disappointed by all of four us. Sure one meal can be off the mark or not what they expected but 4 meals. come on folks To bad to because it came highly recommended so we made it a destination dinner with some local music on a Friday night back in June. The singer and her back up folks were better than the food or the service. This is my first time ever giving out only one star and I sure hope it’s my last. If you still want to try it go on a less crowded night or for lunch maybe they just don’t do well under the pressure of a full house like we had. Oh yeah and very pricey for a noodle joint, there are better and much cheaper places like this close by so check them out for a better bang for your $$$

This menu is an odd assortment of all noodles — from Italian to Thai. I had some kind of lettuce rolls with chicken and the chicken was, well, really kind of gross. It tasted like chicken and it was hot, but it was basically just the stringy parts of chicken meat. It felt like they had repurposed the part of the chicken that they couldn’t put in other dishes. I needed to ask for the Shame Boxes. You know those? Where you ask for it to go because you’re too embarrassed to just tell them you weren’t impressed. My date had a green curry which she said was great, but quite hot. A little overpriced and maybe worth a visit. Once.

I cannot believe I found this place in Duncan. Thank you strange one way streets and our need to check out a farmers market on a Saturday! You led me straight to NOW! Highlight One: Erin C coming up and saying hi to me as we both dined in the cute side terrace of NOW.(And now, snagging the FTR!) HighTIGHT Two: The teeny tiny bathroom. Smaller than an airplane. But the biggest highlight of all? The spicy, hot, sweet, tangy pulled pork soup. The tamarind in the broth was so well balanced with the tender pulled pork that I had a near swooning moment. Okay, who am I kidding, I slurped, I swooned. The noodle dishes are large for a lunch menu. We shared the red curry with Cowichan Valley Free Range Chicken. It was spicy with a great bold flavour. My only lament — not enough chicken. There was also tofu in it, which made me question if it had been accidentally put in there. But the biggest star of the show, as I previously raved, was the soup. Our«Regular» size order was just enough as a light lunch. Next time, I think I’ll just order the large and lap up all of the bright flavours! This was my first time to Duncan and I have now firmly learned: once you veer off the highway, you’re in for a treat coming here. With a menu spanning every type of Asian cuisine(red and green curries, lettuce wraps, wonton soups, rice bowls) I have a feeling no one will be disappointed in their meals!
