Party of 9, weekend brunch at about 2pm. Restaurant was mostly empty save for a couple of single tables. Décor was interesting, tables had old clippings of the local independent newspaper printed into the tabletop. Fish and chips portion sizes are disappointing — $ 8.25(price changes seasonally) for a snack-size portion of halibut is disappointing, as is the $ 19(also seasonal pricing) fish and chip cod dinner. Gravy is included with the fish and chips, which makes it perfect for dipping the fries. We were informed that the Tank burger($ 11.99) was a common favourite, a 12oz burger with ham and loaded with toppings. The patties turned out to be on the dry side and the burger was difficult to down without added ketchup. Apple cinnamon waffles($ 8.99 daily special) were soft and came with lots of whipped cream and apples, as well as a couple of slices of ham, sausage or bacon. Service was good and friendly.
