This Cabelas location is competes with quite possibly the worst customer service available. Such a shame for a good company. The beauty of Cableas is not the price(Wholesale Sports/Campers Village/Fishin’ Hole is cheaper), its the selection and hence the convenience of a one stop shop. But customer service trumps everything for me. The fishing ‘expert’ was probably the most disinterested/uninformed person. The most useful person I met was someone who had worked in the stockroom. My business now belongs wholly to Wholesale Sports!

Love this store. Always have no problem getting in and out in a timely fashion and the workers in the store seem to have good knowledge of the product. In the past I have stayed away from the store in the south west due to long wait times. Glad this store is up and running

I came to this location of Cabela’s yesterday in search of a cheesy fishing t-shirt for my husband’s birthday. Should have been a simple task but alas it was not. This location is smaller than the one located just off the Henday southside so the selection is probably a bit smaller. I was one of a couple customers in the store and must have passed a DOZEN employees over a forty-five minute period of scouring the store looking for a freaking fish shirt in a size large and ONLY one employee offered me any help. Even the two greeters when you first walk in did not say anything to me as they were engaged in a conversation of their own. I literally looked in every nook and cranny of the store to find a size large fish shirt and while there were dozens of awesome shirts in S, M, XL, XXL, and bigger — there was not a single L to be had. Now, perhaps there was one in backstock or maybe it’s the most popular size but I wouldn’t know since no one offered to help. The one department that did offer me assistance was the shoe department and I did score an awesome pair of waterproof Kamik slip on boots(think Bogs or Mucks) but with a floral print to cheer up rainy days. I settled on getting a giftcard for my husband to come back and pick out his own cheesy fishing shirt — and they did have a wide array of graphic options on the gift cards themselves including 2 fishing one so that still worked for the overall theme. I also picked up a Cabela’s fish keychain/bottle opener to go with the gift card but thought $ 6 for a piece a small piece of metal was kinda steep. They did have intriguing BBQ lighters shaped like guns and fishing rods but didn’t think it warranted a $ 15 pricetag. Favourites for my family always include the camping section with goodies like cast-iron pans and pots and grills in every size and style you could imagine and I really do swear by their shoes. I regularly buy the Muck boots(toddler and and 6 year old fabout $ 80 and adult $ 140ish). Waterproof, warm, and lightweight — best winter boots on the market for the value! And as an added bonus, the insoles do come out easily to fit custom orthotics! So overall, yesterday’s visit was a disappointment in both stock and customer service, but I won’t give up on you just yet Cabela’s… But, I must say that your original Edmonton location has provided better service and stock thus far in my hunting expeditions.

SHAMEONYOU! Ejecting poppy-selling cadets from your store, and informing them that they aren’t welcome.(Nov 2⁄14) These cadets were invited by an employee who never dreamt the owner would react like this. …and at a time like this, when our brave men and women in uniforms have lots their lives, merely for wearing them. My extensive Edmonton family, and all of our friends, will never walk through your door again. If those who represent our freedom are not good enough for you, then I suppose neither are we. SHAME!

I have been to this store a few times, however, after reading that Cadets were turned away and told that they were not welcomed at the store for the collecting of poppy funds, I doubt I’ll be back. I have a hard time with those that do not support our Canadian veterans and soldiers — if a business or service is unwilling to support why they are in existence, then I am unwilling to support their existence. This is definitely going to be a black mark for them. I will be spreading the word to my hunting and camping enthusiast friends…

Almost as good as «Outdoor World» in Crossiron Mills! I love their selection of smoking and barbeque supplies. They have some really unique hot sauces and dry rubs for the foodies. Roasted nuts and hand made fudge are also available in store. A great variety of old fashioned candy like licorice and lemon drops. We love shopping here for the cabin at the lake. Every base for the outdoors person is covered from thermal socks to rifles!

Avoid this store at all costs… they use online BAIT and SWITCH tactics. I went to Cabelas because they were having a sale on a rifle that I wanted… the browning X-bolt. At the gun counter I was told that this particular model has been discontinued(it’s a new model and there is no way it’s been discontinued). The guy at the counter offered to sell me a far more expensive model of the same gun that was not on sale. I drove all the way here and did not want to drive all the way home with nothing, so I said that if could honour the same discount as the allegedly discontinued gun($ 100 off) then I would buy the more expensive model. He said his hands were tied, so I asked to speak to the manager. A lady came over claiming to be a manager. She was equally useless. She«checked the stock» in the warehouse and«confirmed» that the gun I wanted was unavailable and never going to be available because it was«discontinued». I told her I felt like I was being bait and switched and didn’t appreciate it. She offered me 5% off, which still makes me believe it was bait and switch… just get you into the store so you will spend more money. I left the store quite angry, because I had seen this gun on sale and available online. I got home and went back to their website and the gun is still showing as available… so I ordered it. My order was accepted, and allegedly I will have it within 5 – 7 business days. So put off by my in store experience I called them back and spoke to the same«manager». I told her that I had purchased the gun online through Cabelas website. She said«I don’t know how you did that, we don’t have stock available, unless they are holding stock for online orders only». Well Cabelas… why on earth would I ever go into your store if that is how you do business? Lead people in by advertising deals online that are not available, then offer them more expensive merchandise once they are there… it’s almost criminal.

After seeing the grandeur of Bass ProShop I was wondering how this place would compare. I like it. Smaller easy to navigate and good pricing. Service was great and the staff were very accommodating. I found what I was looking for and made it out of there in under 30 minutes.

Wow this place is crazy! Not much to write. There is everything you need from hunting to camping to fishing. Crazy expensive for cabelas own gear but hey, what can you expect. Like a hunters wal mart! And super cool taxied animals everywhere. Summer is here, buy your gear!
