Cabin to Castle Property Inspectors

Just had our home inspected by Cabin to Castle. I’m the seller.
Typically I’d be alright with having deficiencies and either renegotiate or just fix them. We’ve solicited feedback from every showing and have been busily completing everything that is brought up.
This company is probably pretty good within a general skills set but on a specialty home or when dealing with anything out of the norm they not only don’t have a clue but rather don’t even try to understand. The claimed portions of our home had no piles… we have screw piles so the we’re looking for concrete and couldn’t find any so an x goes on the report. They claimed the parging is falling off the house which is an indication of water damage… stand back 20 feet and you can see clearly the soil has settled.
The list goes on and on.
Lost the buyer because they don’t have a clue what a screw pile or how a preserved wood foundation is. Draw conclusions based on lack of knowledge and stated that even though clear diagrams and engineering reports were left out that reviewing such documents isn’t their job.
So they choose to inspect without understanding what the product is supposed to be and go off what they think it should be.
I’ll not only never hire these people but will never again allow them on my property.

We recently used Cabin to Castle for a home inspection and were very impressed by their thoroughness. This is the 4^th home we’ve purchased and have worked with other inspectors who were OK but these guys were hands down phenomenal.
They sent two people to do the inspection which took approx. 3 hours — so we had the equivalent of a 6 hours of time. Having two experts on hand allowed them to divide up the work and focus on their areas in greater depth. They explained any issues in clear language and presented an easy to read report that same day. It was clear that they were both knowledgeable and had been in this business for a long time (the listing realtor was very familiar with them). The cost was also reasonable at $ 550. All in all — very impressed!
