Come to me, my pretty…(insert maniacal laugh!) Yes, oh yes this tiny boutique is filled to the brim with my exact tastes! Elegant, refined with a very European charm. I don’t like living in a cluttered house, so when there is a decorative touch, I want it to be fabulous and CC provides exactly that. It is kind of like a tiny Chintz — which is my favourite go-to store in Edmonton to decorate my house, minus the major furniture and interior design elements you can receive from Chintz. I especially love the garden décor! I like my backyard to feel like another room in my house, a comfortable relaxing extension. And the wonderful pieces they carry for patio season are just lovely. They also have very nice vintage jewelry, soaps, mirrors, linens, luxe baby products, candles and so on. I highly suggest going to Spinelli’s next door for a cappuccino, then taking a tour through this store. Happy shopping ladies and gentleman!

We stopped by this store as it was right next to the Italian Centre Shop(another Edmonton gem, review coming soon!). I loved the boutique feel of the store, I’ve seen nothing like it in the city so far. It reminded me of some shops in Vancouver(Front & Company, Lofty Living). The merchandise is very feminine and chic — I wanted everything. Fancy soaps, linens, cake stands, candles, glass jars, and many other décor and knick knacks everywhere. Most of the items are indeed pricey but I can’t imagine any girl disliking a gift that came from this store. The girl working at the store was friendly and said hello to us as we were walking around.

I always like to think I have this clean, non-cluttered, no-knick-knacks home décor aesthetic, but I have an obsession with buying things at home décor stores. CC is no exception. You know where the Italian Centre Shop is? On the south side? CC is right next door. That’s actually how I first discovered it! I’ve never been to Paris, and to be honest Paris intimidates me a little bit(is that weird?), so CC is a great way to score some French-inspired items without the round trip. The employees here aren’t particularly helpful, I’ve found, especially if you don’t look like you have the money to buy things from here. I can usually only afford things from here that are in the sale section. I have my eye on a gorgeous jewelry stand that is an unfortunate $ 80. Hope it’s marked down soon — then I’ll be back to buy it!

I take pride in writing objective reviews and I am honored to be part of the Unilocal team. I stand by my objective and fair description of my experience. After being contacted by the owner of this store, I plan to visit CC again and write another updated objective review. For now, here is what I experienced … CC is inspired by all things glittery and French. They sell everything from bed linens to glittery birds nests. To be quite honest, I am not sure how this place stays in business, it must be due to the location. The employees are not respectful, the selection is basic, and the prices are hilarious(and not in a good way). The prices are ridiculous, I say ridiculous because many stores on Whyte Avenue sell the exact same product for a much lower price. I purchased a stone bird from one of the shops on Whyte Ave and noticed that CC had the same one … only it was triple the price, yes, triple!!! This place is not what it seems, go elsewhere.

This beautiful french inspired store is full of glamorous and fabulous things for your home. The only reason I could never shop here is because I live on a student budget and therefore cannot afford $ 275 clocks. I love walking through this store and looking at everything. It has small things to decorate your home, sultry scented soaps(one of them cost $ 18 – eek!), jewelry, bedding, glasses, art cards and more. I feel like a child walking into a grownup’s store here, and only because everything is so beautiful, and not because of the way they treated me. My personal favorite on my last visit? The«madame» and«monsieur» napkin ring holders. Absolutely delightful!

CC is full of beautiful things, mainly décor items to give your home a classic French twist. The shop seems to be bursting with fancy, glittering objects, especially now that it’s the holiday shopping season. They have some of the most beautiful glass ornaments I’ve seen, but $ 45 for an ornament? I don’t think so. You could feed a small village with that much. It’s the kind of shop where you want to be very careful where you tread, and don’t make any sudden turns. Otherwise it could be followed by the sound of tinkling glass. Not good. And I’m sure this place has a «you break, you buy» policy. How else would they make a profit? There are some affordable items here, like their perfume bottles and smaller ornaments. Everything has a classy, vintage, old-world feel to it, since it’s supposed to reflect French tastes, although most of their accessories come from Vancouver. You can even get a bust of Napoleon or a mini Eiffel tower here. Other items they carry include bed linens, pillows, china sets, and of course, jewelry, some of which is locally made. It’s a beautiful store, but I can’t imagine they get a varied clientele coming in through here. This place is way too pricey.
